How Revanth Govt completely derailed Hyderabad Metro expansion ⬇️

• The first decision Revanth took after assuming office was cancelling the Airport Metro project. His strange logic: Airport Metro is “not useful” for many citizens.

Airport Metro would have given fast connectivity from core city to the airport. It would have helped nearly 7.5 lakh people residing in the IT Corridor, Rajendranagar and Shamshabad. And also helped about one lakh passengers travelling to and fro to Airport everday. The project needed no land acquisition and would have been nearing completion by now.

• Due to Revanth's short sightedness and vendetta politics, even BRS proposed Metro corridors were scrapped unilaterally.

• Congress Govt came up with totally new routes and called it Phase 2. Its ₹43,000 Cr DPR has been lying with the Centre for nearly a year with zero progress. Centre now says the plan will not be approved intoto. They say that only corridor wise permissions will be considered that too after March 2026. Congress Govt was caught off guard assuming instant clearance.

• Critical alignment flaws: high density passenger zones ignored. Fourth City real estate driven Metro routes proposed were criticised by the Centre. Total confusion now on which corridor will get the first nod.

• Revanths reckless L&T Metro takeover has also backfired. Instead of easing approvals, it created more complications. ₹13,000 Cr L&T loan + ₹2,000 Cr payout dumped on Telangana people. L&T would have borne the burden till 2035, now shifted to taxpayers.

Result: Telangana Govt carries extra financial burden. Metro Expansion is stalled. And there is uncertainty everywhere.

Hyderabad Metro’s future stands jeopardised by sheer incompetence and mismanagement of Revanth Govt.
