Shri Praful K. Patel, Hon’ble Administrator of Lakshadweep, addressed the Fisheries Outreach Programme at Agatti, highlighting the immense untapped fisheries potential of the islands and the need to strengthen tuna fisheries, deep-sea fishing, seaweed cultivation and fish processing.

He also emphasised the importance of strengthening fisheries infrastructure, value addition and processing to create greater livelihood opportunities and enhance the incomes of local fishers, with a vision to develop Lakshadweep as a model region for fisheries-led Blue Economy development.
