With manual cameras , manual focus, no motor drive, it was such a challenge to try to capture his dreadlocks. So now I’m in my seventies, I can think of nothing more enjoyable than sharing a photograph, from my archive, and here’s the personal favourite… the great Bob Marley at his one and only gig in Ireland… from my old negatives
Celebrating our African heroes - Dedan Kimathi
A Kenyan freedom fighter who was the leading figures of the Mau Mau Revolution - an armed resistance against British occupation of Kenya
Labelled a terrorist by the British government, he was hunted down, arrested and later executed at Kamiti Maximum Prison in 1956
Buried in an unmarked grave, his relatives, his comrades and his people, to this day don't know where his body rests
Long forgotten by the administrations that came to rule the independent Kenya, but with Kenya's Generation Z increasingly digging up on their history. They have forced the current administration to acknowledge his role to the independence of Kenya
In 2006, a statue of this great son of the soil, was erected in Nairobi, as a celebration of his heroism towards the independence of Kenya
Gone but not forgotten. We should never forget the sacrifices of these men and women. As African youths, it's up to us, to fulfill their wishes of a free prosperous Africa

We celebrate a Kenyan author, academic and an all round world renowned titan of modern African literature who died at the age of 87. His storytelling was so good it freaked out the government and he had to go to exile in 1982. Rest well Ngugi wa Thiong'o
Mau Mau Field Marshal Muthoni Kirima. She was the only woman to hold that rank in the organization. She was sleek and once went all the way to Ethiopia to get weapons for the movement. She left the forest in December 1963 and died in 2023 at the age of 92.
@Kibet_bull To those who lived through the KANU dictatorship and now urge us to be silent – we hear you. We know your fear because we grew up watching it shape you... But we are not you. We did not inherit your fear. -@SankaraKinuthia

@SimonKaggwaNjal Government uses people's taxes. That's why they (should) build roads, schools and stuff in opposition areas too. Money for political parties from government is people's money, not ruling party's money.
