The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) – Federal Policing, Central Region (Ontario) is announcing the conviction and sentence of Jawad Rathore and Vincenzo Petrozza, the “operating minds” of Fortress Real Developments Inc. This was a complex, multi‑year investigation conducted by the RCMP’s Toronto Integrated Market Enforcement Team (IMET).

The co-founders of now-defunct mortgage company Fortress Real Developments Inc. have been sentenced to five years in prison and ordered to pay $12.2-million each. Their lawyers have filed an appeal and are seeking bail pending appeal. Story coming soon.

@DanRapsfan In Canada, fraud over $5 K is considered an indictable offense ( Section 380 of Criminal Code). Min penalty if fraud exceeds 1 million of 2 yrs imprisonment & max of 14 yrs. The alleged fraud for just the Sky City & Collier dev projects is over $80 Million.
