As expected SC refuses to stay NGT order. It was SC which told NGT to decide on merits of the case. Why would they stay the NGT order? TN Govt in a spot now. They have to allow the plant to reopen or face contempt. Think they may do the latter. #Sterlite

It is surprising to know that Kamal has no knowledge on Sterlite issue. He spoke about gulf of manner and the factory is not 25km away from the national park. But under sec 35(1) in wildlife protection act it is only intended but not declared as national park under sec 35(4).

The Court directed that this case should be taken over by #NGT appointed independent committee headed by Justice Tarun agarwal.The evaluation is meant to happen based only on the grounds of facts and scientific Evidences. This shows the transparency of data that can be challenged

Sterlite later went on challenging TN Govt and TNPCB for the permanent closure of the plant! Principle or Natural justice was clearly denied to the company, purely to gain and mislead the sentiment of Tamil people in order to win vote banks
