Over the past few days, our engineering team have been laying out the storyboard of the network that we hope to build.
Over the next few weeks, we will provide regular updates on the progress of our architecture across our channels and GitHub.
The mission stays the same. The timelines have just moved forward.
As part of our forward-planning for ATOR's phase II ecosystem, we had already been preparing the resources to build this network for greater autonomy. Our plan was always to be bigger than Tor, and these plans have simply been accelerated.
Our goal is now to build out the first MVP of our onion-routing network. We are excited to roll this out in January 2024, alongside an early roll-out of beta hardware units so that we can proceed with our first global test with distributed relays around the world. From there, we have a considerable roadmap around broadening and decentralizing our network; what unites our vision is our principle of enabling rapid innovation by both our team and others, and broadening the scope of participation for relays, users and developers.
We are thrilled to introduce the set of 5 engineers from the Forte group who we have will complement our dedicated team of engineers, architects and hardware experts. They have been instrumental in building some of the most widely impactful blockchain innovations and globally used apps.
Very little has changed for our momentum - we have the funds to build a world class project and have a world class team that is only getting better. And, crucially, we have the community and hardware that allows us to rapidly innovate and gain a level of participation and traction to make an immediate impact on global privacy.
