It’s impossible to overstate the dereliction of patriotic duty now displayed by a party that suppressed its own candidates, basically coronated someone incapable of defeating a genuine threat to our way of life, has dithered instead of handling the problem, and now tries
to fix it by doubling down on their foolishness.

They deserve the crash and burn they’re attracting, but the American people do not deserve it. Democratic officials are throwing up their hands, too few of them willing to lay down their careers if that’s what it takes, to take the slightest risk to preserve the possibility that democracy as we know it will yet survive.
