this camera … is truly fascinating. i have never seen a device that can capture a moment so perfectly.
lord goldcrest certainly outdid himself this time. well, nothing less from the master of coin.

@VSPPJS02 ⠀
greetings, dean. i am raenyra elenwyth, marchioness of the east centorian border. i had a few bottles delivered from your winery a while back, and i must say that wine from the incantare is, if not, the best wine i’ve ever tasted. it’s good to make your acquaintance.
⠀
⠀
‘ ah, this boy. ’ raenyra smiled inwardly, putting the tea cup to her lips and blowing on the liquid for a second before taking an ample sip.
“ this is perfect, my dear. thank you. ”
a sharp sensation hit her chest, then, a pained smile as she watched him leave.
⠀
⠀
a faint smile could be seen on the woman’s lips, and it bore an array of emotions. affection, wistfulness, and a glint of pain. there is a right time for reminiscing, and that time is not now.
she took a whiff of the tea he provided, smile widening as realization hit her.

“ my queen. ” raenyra greeted calmly after a polite curtsy, offering her majesty a soft smile.
“ my name is raenyra elenwyth, daughter of the late marquis virion elenwyth, marquise of the east centorian border. it is my honor to make your acquaintance. ”
⠀
⠀
“ i did finish my degree abroad though, so i guess i could understand some of your sentiments. ” she continued with a soft laugh, meeting his gaze once again.
“ raenyra elenwyth, marquise of the east centorian border. it’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance, pierce. ”
⠀
⠀
“ ah, lovely evening. ” the woman spoke in response to his greeting, gaze returning to the different shades of blooms she previously admired with a faint smile on her lips.
“ i commend you for having the patience to stay in a boarding school, i could probably never. ”
⠀
⠀
❝ don't usually get to see such a beaut when you're in a boarding school but, alas, at times a man shall make sacrifices. but indeed, good evening. emory pierce ji, pierce shall suffice. ❞
⠀
⠀
“ aren’t you quite the charmer? ” she spoke elegantly with just a hint of knowing banter. the man probably had his reasons for his current state of affairs, and all she could really do is respect his privacy.
“ earl grey, dear. earl grey would be wonderful, thank you. ”
⠀
⠀
Still, sentiment must always bow to duty. And his duty? Well… to serve tea.
“Most delightful, my lady. Might I ask your preference? Her Majesty has curated an exquisite selection—allow me the honor of preparing it for you at once.”

⠀
she could barely recognize familiar faces in the crowd, a crowd that she was supposed to know well. it’s high time she got her social affairs in order AND in check. ( this is to save her from complete public embarrassment, of course. )
⠀
⠀
the woman let out a tired exhale. truly, there were no words of how extravagant the palace throws celebrations. well, that, or she hasn’t really been to the palace in a long time.
raenyra sat on one of the benches, a distance from the central garden, recuperating energy.
⠀
⠀
the woman had an eyebrow raised before her gaze could meet the younger’s. odd, she could’ve sworn that voice was from someone she once knew, yet the man in front of her, though extremely familiar, felt ( and looked ) quite different.
“ another cup of tea would be nice. ”
⠀
⠀
With a courteous bow, Leo stepped forward and offered, a soft, innocent smile playing on his lips,
“A pleasant evening. Might I offer you a cup of tea, or perhaps a glass of lemonade? It would be my utmost pleasure to serve.”
⠀
⠀
“ not quite fond of gardens, i presume? ” the lady jested from behind, posture collected with a faint smile on her lips, as she offered the younger a linen pocket square from her purse.
“ keep this, dearest. this fête will most likely last for a few more hours. ”
⠀
She walked towards the garden after hearing the pavilion’s announcement. Her nose wrinkled at the floral scent and she realized, pollen, her second nemesis. A sneeze burst forth, making her curse under her breath.
⠀
a ( sudden ) pause. dear heavens, she would have spilled her tea all over her dress from shock if she hadn’t reacted on time.
the woman calmly set her cup down before eyeing the figure at the center of the garden, settling with a polite nod as their eyes met.
⠀
⠀
“Everyone seems to be shy, huh. Let me start, then!” He walked to the center of the garden. “Hey, fellas. The name’s Tripp. It’s a pleasure to be of your acquaintance, yeah?” he yells, a smile beaming on his face. But don’t be charmed, it is a masquerade that he plays.
