I’m fundraising for @LDNairamb, building up to running the @RoyalParksHalf marathon in October, and this thread explains why! 🚁
I’m so grateful to be alive, and so grateful for any donations! https://t.co/OuQfeemWvj
Last year, Virginia was cycling to work when her bike collided with another bike and she fell into a busy road.
The accident left Virginia seriously injured on the road.
"I was in pure agony, lying face down on the road screaming endlessly for help…I started to think I was dying…I feel indebted to London’s Air Ambulance for saving my life that day" You can read Virginia's story here https://t.co/sVs9a728ex (2/2)
Thank you @RoyalParksHalf for sharing my story and helping me fundraise for @LDNairamb! 🥰 🚁 With under 4 weeks until the race, all donations to this link below are hugely appreciated 🙏🏃🏼♀️ https://t.co/OuQfeemoFL
Congratulations to Virginia who is our first winner of this year's Inspire campaign, sponsored by @RBC. Virginia is running this year's Royal Parks Half to raise money for @LDNairamb charity after they saved her life in October last year. (1/2)
I recently had the pleasure of working on the UK-hosted European Political Community Summit, supporting the Swiss President’s delegation 🇨🇭
The #EPC gathering of 46 European leaders, plus many UK Cabinet Ministers & the King, was quite an experience! Well done to all involved 👏
At the EPC gathering around 45 nations and organisations are working to foster dialogue in #Europe and defend democratic values. #Switzerland welcomes and supports this still young forum that underscores European solidarity.
Once she was more stable, our team accompanied her in a road ambulance to the nearest major trauma centre where she began her road to recovery.

They also anaesthetised and intubated Virginia to take control of her breathing and ensure maximum oxygen intake.
The team were very concerned that Virginia was bleeding internally and had lost a lot of blood, they provided her with four units of blood at the scene.
Our advanced trauma team was dispatched bringing procedures usually only found in the emergency department to Virginia’s side.
Our team performed a thoracostomy on the roadside: cutting into Virginia’s chest to release the pressure and help the lungs to reinflate.
Two great opportunities have opened up to join my team working on UK-EU trade relations, at the Department for Business and Trade. They’re open to existing and non-Civil Servants alike. Please share this link with anyone who may want to apply!

Alongside the #FLS, I’ll also study for a Post-Grad Certificate in #Leadership & Management from @covcampus Business School, delving into leadership theory for the first time. I’m excited to get stuck in, meet lots of new FLS colleagues & make the most of this great opportunity!
Yesterday was the launch of the @CSHR_ADS#FutureLeadersScheme for the 2022 intake, at Coventry Cathedral. The #FLS is a selective 1-year leadership development programme and it was hugely exciting to see it kick-off, and I look forward to the next year on the scheme! @LCGgovuk
Volunteering with and supporting young people is incredibly fulfilling for me, and I highly recommend everyone spend a little time today considering how you can support the next generation, and perhaps volunteer for these vital governor roles!
#schoolgovday @SchoolGovNet
Today’s National School Governors Day @SchoolGovDay, raising awareness of the important voluntary role that 300,000 governors play in improving the education of children across the UK. So it feels like a fitting moment to share that I too have become a #SchoolGovernor! 🎉
I’m very excited to join the Governing Board and the Education and Welfare Committee for two schools which played a huge, positive role in 15 years of my own life, from age 3-18: @KESSouthampton and Stroud School.
It’s fantastic to hear fellow @UniofExeter Languages alumna Dame @MelSimmonsFCDO, UK Ambassador to Ukraine, speaking about diplomacy and working with languages - she’s such a great role model for careers with languages!
Thanks to @UniOfExeterHASS for organising! @Exalumni
Our LIAGW Guest Speaker, Melinda Simmons has recently been appointed a Dame Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George in the 2023 New Year Honours for her services to British foreign policy.
@USAinUK@CBP The ESTA website has had a glitch for the last few days and isn’t uploading a photo of my boyfriend’s passport, nor letting him add the info manually. Mine worked fine last week. How can we get round this glitch to apply for his ESTA? It’s urgent, help appreciated!

Super excited to be selected for the Civil Service #FutureLeadersScheme from c. 3,000 applicants! I’m excited to start this 1-year programme & meet the rest of the cohort!
A big thank you to mentors & role models who have supported me along the way! I’m grateful for your help ✨
I shared some fabulous news on Linkedin, that 3 of my mentees at @UniofExeter, who all graduated this summer, have ALL recently been offered brilliant jobs in their chosen fields! I'm over the moon for them, and it makes the #mentoring feel so worthwhile!

Here's a good and thought-provoking thread on #ImposterSyndrome. Interesting takeaways are that 82% of people feel it (!), and how to tackle it through cultivating a growth mindset, and tips for overcoming #perfectionism.
