@MadhutchMike@pathofexile I do the same. 1, maybe 2 characters per league. You can get the campaign down to like 4 or 5 hours reliably though so its not that bad
Nobody gave an actual fuck about losing vaults and starting over. If they did D2 wouldn't have outsold D1. Just the truth of the matter. People were just upset at the rough state of the game that was Y1 and were lashing out at anything they could.
New inventory starts are such a non issue for gamers in general. For example POE2 forces you to make a new character, start from lvl 1, empty inventory, and the entire economy gets set to zero every single season, you have to do the entire campaign again to get to end game. Guess what? It peaked higher than D2 ever did, and is currently sitting at a 24hr peak of over 275k on steam alone. Its still in early access and its 0.5 update peaked higher than destiny ever did by over 100k.
Inventory resets dont matter to players as long as you make a fun game. Problem was D2Y1 was lacking in almost every aspect. Had D2 release on par with Forsaken quality and content, there wouldn't have been a single peek about losing the vault.
That was honestly fine. If they released good expansions people always came back. GGG stated it perfectly in regards to something like POE. He said yeah its scary because you dont know if people are going to come back, but ultimately if you make a good game and good content, they will.
Bungie should have never gone full in on the idea of season content and no D3. What they did with Forsaken, is where they should have dialed in. Then after 3 or 4 years move to the next game. Do the game, 1 big expansion, 2 or 3 mini expansions, for about 3 or 4 years then plan on dropping the sequel with the engine and system upgrades baked in.
Focus testing often sanitizes and reduces for the lowest common denominator. Let people that are passionate about the works and IP run with it and i would wager they will produce things better than almost any focus tested ad
I was the product marketing manager for @GearsofWar 2. We did zero focus testing on the ads. The team was locked in together. Total trust in each other and in what we were making. Taste and confidence.
More than 20,000 Xbox fans are asking Microsoft to remove paid online multiplayer, saying players should not have to pay extra just to play online after already buying a console and games.
A request on Microsoft’s Feedback Portal has received over 20,000 votes, making it one of the most popular requests from Xbox users.
Fans want online multiplayer to be free instead of requiring a Game Pass Core or Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
Maybe? From what weve heard, the reaction from basically everybody at the studio according to (iirc) Tassi, nobody had an idea it was coming. They found out basically when we did. Allegedly even DMG didnt know, which he has more reputation within the studio than hippy did. Yet we are being told to believe that she knew more than he would have?
Cause renegade was ass. Many people are over thr starwars franchise. The story telling in destiny has gone to shit. The gameplay loop got old. The armor system was fucked. The weapon system was fucked. The list goes on. Basically all those complaints (except writing) were fixed here
Its almost always a playercount issue. SBMM wouldn't put .5s against 2.0s if there were enough people in same CBMM zone to have the the .5 and 2.0 fill their own lobbies. Problem is theres not so it widens the MM range. Plus you have to take into account premade fireteams that have a wide skillgap causing hiccups within the system where it used to average out between the players in the team, then higher rank assholes were abusing that to be able to get easier lobbies so that had to be adjusted as well, now dragging .5s into 2.0s because the sweats couldn't help themselves from being total cunts
SBMM doesn't force them into it. The playercount is the problem here.
There are 3 systems at play. You have SBMM CBMM and Lobby Balancing all running simultaneously. When it cant find people close enough to your skill bracket, in your area, both expand to fill the game up faster. Then it balances the lobby to atleast give the lower skill players a chance to engage other lower skills in the match and actually have a chance to win.
If you remove the lobby balancing (which is what you are complaining about here) you can quite literally place multiple high skill players against a team of low skill.
@Derrick53216936@KableKompany Im all for D3. But miss me with pretty much all the current NPCs. Im so over them and how Bungie butchered thier narratives
