Cochran-Siegle becomes the 7th Vermonter all-time to medal multiple times in Olympic history joining:
Lindsey Jacobellis, Kelly Clark, Hannah Kearney, Hannah Teter, Ross Powers and Andrea Mead-Lawrence.
Middlebury College’s Penny Pitou also medaled twice.
UVM alum Paula Moltzan takes bronze the women slalom team combined event, in a banner day for former Catamount skiers with former UVM cross country star Ben Ogden taking a historic silver in the men’s sprint final.
The only two American men to medal in any cross country skiing event in the Olympics are Vermonters.
Ben Ogden (from Landgrove) joins Bill Koch (Brattleboro), who also won Silver at the 1976 Olympics in the men’s 30km
Historic moment for US cross-country skiing. 🥈
Ben OGDEN [USA] claims silver in the men's sprint classic — his first Olympic medal and the first medal for a US male cross-country skier since 1976.
What a breakthrough 🤩

Earlier this year I decided to throw all my research into a very Web 1.0 platform that was easy. Anyway, the Olympics research is updated. Winter games close, you can see all Vermonters/Collegians who qualified for 2025 and every other games here: https://t.co/AIHmAkfupT
Update: these two were preceded by Michel Bonebo (St. Michael’s) who competed for Ivory Coast in the 1986 tournament as former attendees of Vermont colleges to play in a major international tournament. https://t.co/1HGLty4eSV
UVM’s Trae Bell-Haynes (Canada) and St. Michael’s Patrick Gardner (Egypt) will both participate in the 2023 FIBA World Cup, which I believe is the first time any former UVM/SMC men’s player has played in a major international basketball tournament.
If you don't recall Bonebo, he was 7-foot-3 and is SMC's all-time blocks leader. He was also featured in Sports Illustrated and got a training camp invite from the Washington Bullets in 1990.

Congratulations to Patrick Gardner, who has agreed to terms with the Brooklyn Nets!
Pat played for the Miami Heat's Summer League team and is preparing for the 2023 FIBA World Cup. He will be suiting up for the Egyptian National Team next month.

Friends, today is THE LAST DAY to play Athletic Director Simulator 3000 for FREE. After today, it goes back behind the paywall (which is just eight bucks a month or 75/year)
Are YOU ready to take over a D1 athletic department? Play and find out!

Worth noting that Woodcroft attended Florida Panthers development camp last week in a guest coaching capacity and did not appear to disclose any details of that probe to the NHL club.
Andrew Miltenberg, fired UVM men's hockey coach Todd Woodcroft's attorney has made his career (at least in the media spotlight) by representing accused rapists and sexual abusers on college campuses. Scum hiring scum? Seems it. https://t.co/DTi2ZRztMS
Another thought on Todd Woodcroft. I said it on @PlooferVT space, but will say it here: in hindsight, it should have been a massive character red flag for a guy to hire Mike Fucking Babcock as a volunteer coach. That’s on Schulman too to sign off on it. @VCatCountry
With the Todd Woodcroft fiasco, is it fair to ask if the man who hired him, UVM athletic director Jeff Schulman, is the one who should be making the next hire? You tell me.

Sources have indicated that the investigation into Todd Woodcroft has been going for quite some time.
I asked Woodcroft on July 7 whether he was under investigation; he said “no, that is not accurate.”
