No Charges, No Trial: Parsa Najafi Detained for More Than 120 Days

It was learned on 5 October 2026 that, more than 120 days after his arrest, Mr. Parsa Najafi, a 20-year-old Bahá’í resident of Isfahan, remained in Dastgerd Prison without resolution of his case. His detention order had again been extended.

As of 9 October 2026, Mr. Najafi had been held in custody for approximately 126 days, yet judicial proceedings in his case had not commenced and no formal charges had been announced.

After nearly three months without access to telephone calls or family visits, Mr. Najafi’s parents were recently permitted to meet with him. The visits were conducted separately and under supervision, and his parents were prohibited from discussing his case, detention conditions, or experiences in custody.

Concerns had previously been raised about Mr. Najafi’s access to legal representation because his lawyer had not been permitted to review the case file.

Mr. Najafi was arrested by agents of the Isfahan Intelligence Department on 6 June 2026. At the same time, security agents raided his family home and confiscated personal items belonging to him and his family.

Following his arrest, Mr. Najafi was subjected to pressure and threats aimed at obtaining televised confessions. Security agents had also previously searched his family home on 22 December 2024.

#بهزاد_یزدانی بیش از ۲۰۰ روز بازداشت است او عضو انجمن مترجمان و ویراستار کتاب است نام برخی از کتابهای ترجمه شده توسط او در گزارش زیر نوشته شده، اما تعجب اینجا است که تاکنون هیچ کدام از اهالی قلم یا نشر حتی یک بار نام او را نبرده اند!

بنا بر گزارش رسیده به «ایران‌وایر»، «پریسا اسلامی»، شهروند بهایی، روز یکشنبه ۵مهر۱۴۰۵ برای اجرای حکم حبس بازداشت و به زندان «کچویی» کرج منتقل شد.
یک منبع مطلع در این‌باره به ایران‌وایر گفت: «پریسا در اسفند ۱۴۰۱ برای انجام بازپرسی به دادسرای انقلاب کرج احضار شد. او تا پیش از بازداشت معلم ریاضی دانش‌آموزان پایه چهارم ابتدایی بوده است.»

@IranIntl reports on Iran's rising wave of raids, arrests and property seizures against Baha'is, which Simin Fahandej, Representative of the Baha'i International Community to the United Nations in Geneva, has condemned as "state-sponsored theft." Hundreds of incidents have been documented since the January crackdown, including raids across six provinces in which agents seized cars, gold, cash, computers, musical instruments and even children's toys.

بنا بر اطلاعات رسیده به «ایران‌وایر»، پارسا نجفی چند هفته است که هیچ تماس یا ملاقاتی با خانواده‌اش نداشته است. آخرین تماس او با خانواده نیز چند هفته پیش و تنها برای چند ثانیه بوده است. او همچنین یک‌بار با خانواده خود حدود دو ماه و نیم پیش ملاقات داشته است.

@IranIntl reports on a coordinated wave of raids targeting Baha'is across seven provinces in less than a week. According to a statement received by Iran International, agents of the Islamic Republic raided Baha'i homes and workplaces, confiscating vehicles, cash, jewelry, computers, work tools and even children's toys. At least 11 people have been arrested.

Iran International spoke with Vesagh Sanaei, one of the Persian spokespersons for the Baha'i International Community, about the escalating campaign of state theft and economic strangulation.
