@nypost "What the hell" is shocking?? Have you been watching popular TV shows. Fuck is a common verb/exclamation. And cunt is high on the list of predicate nominatives. Come on! The New York Post - what can you expect.
We will also come to the realization that properly administered immigration would be to our economic benefit. There will be a heavy price to pay for this administration and it will be difficult to reverse. 2/2
MAGA, let's forget about ICE and immigration for just a moment. Look at our economic future. The world is realigning in response to our wrong headed policies and outright disrespect. It is not to our long term advantage. (Understatement) 1/2
@DominickCuozzo@CoryBooker An effective bill to secure the border was on the table a year before but voted down because Trump wanted to run on it. Trump’s immigration cruelty show may be scaring off would be immigrants for now but it is not addressing systemic issues.
It is unconscionable to allow Russia to assault Ukraine’s sovereignty, recruit enemies like North Korea to aid in their fight, and then sell out the Ukrainians by conceding the loss of their territory and NATO security guarantees or membership. By making these and others concessions before negotiations even started, Trump has effectively surrendered to Putin on Ukraine. 1/3
We’re barely three weeks in, but Trump is laying the groundwork to allow staggering levels of corruption to occur in the US Government.
Here are five actions he's already taken to open the flood gates of corruption – just the facts🧵
Our nation’s democratic system functioned last night and we have a new President-elect. All Americans are bound, whether we like the outcome or not, to accept the results of our elections. We now have a special responsibility, as citizens of the greatest nation on earth, to do everything we can to support and defend our Constitution, preserve the rule of law, and ensure that our institutions hold over these coming four years. Citizens across this country, our courts, members of the press and those serving in our federal, state and local governments must now be the guardrails of democracy.
Stock markets at record highs, low unemployment, wage growth exceeds inflation, the best handling of inflation of any G7 nation, energy independence, and I can go on and on and on...But no matter how this result lands, whether VP Harris ekes this out or not, it is amazing how unappreciated successful governance was in this election and how Americans are so willing to bring back into office the guy who caused all the destruction.
His own Vice President will not be voting for him.
His former Chief of Staff will not.
His former Sec of Defense will not.
His former Nat Security Advisor will not.
His former Joint Chiefs Chair will not.
His former AG will not.
Because he’s dangerous and unfit for office.
I miss the Grand Old Party (GOP) and long for the day when we can return to healthy and principled partisan debates. (We idealistic hippies sometimes need to be reined in by practical conservatism.) But this election is different… and much deeper than D versus R and left versus right. It’s a clear choice, and the survival of our democracy is on the line.
The world needs not the chaos of Trump but the stability of Kamala Harris. The world needs America.
To my Trump friends:
He's lying to you.
Violent crime is down, not up.
Inflation is down, not up.
Economic growth is up last 2 qtrs.
Stock market is way, way up.
Immigrants aren't evil. They take the jobs we don't want, buy products + fuel the economy.
Don't believe a liar.
A century ago, Germany’s democracy was hijacked by a bombastic and charismatic tyrant — and in this five-minute video, you’ll learn how he did it. Why did I produce this? Because I believe that history is speaking to us, and all too often, those who refuse to learn from it are doomed to repeat it.
As you watch, imagine filling out a Bingo card filled with Germany 1933/USA 2024 parallels: big rallies, rage-filled and hateful rhetoric, simple answers promising quick and easy solutions to complicated problems, empty promises of a great-again future, scapegoating outsiders, and political enemies silenced on day one. And notice the caring wisdom and concern from my German friends as they share these lessons from their dark history.
It’s hard to understand how Trump could, on the eve of a tight election, paint a picture of Liz Cheney before a firing squad by actually saying, “Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, OK? And let’s see how she feels about it when the guns are trained on her face.” You can’t get into the mind of a dictator with an insatiable appetite for power — but you can recognize the playbook they all seem to follow.
Just watch this clip. It’s excerpted from my hourlong public television special “The Story of Fascism in Europe,” which is streaming free (and ad-free) at https://t.co/YA10kVH0V8. If you care about our democracy and love our country, it’s hard to stop watching.
When I produced this in 2018, I hoped this day would never come in our country. But November 5th is upon us. Please share this with anyone in your life who might need a reminder that the stakes are high...and this is very real.
Some people seem to have forgotten how bad a president Trump was, so I made a list of the 100 Worst Things About the Trump Presidency, in no particular order. Please share and add anything I missed. 🧵
@JAMNPP Or would you rather have the man that does not support a two state solution and unnecessarily inflamed tensions by moving the US embassy to Jerusalem ?
BREAKING: New NBC polling finds that 57% of Americans hold a highly unfavorable view of Donald Trump’s Project 2025. Retweet so every American sees this video of Donald Trump explaining how he will implement Project 2025 on day 1 of his Presidency
This is the reason Trump is constantly attacking the media.
Lesley Stahl: “He said you know why I do it? I do it to discredit you all and demean you all, so when you write negative stories about me, no one will believe you.”
