My 'profession', psychology, could singlehandedly have shut trans bullshit down in one simple statement.

Like this:

"An individual's psychological/adjustment difficulties cannot be resolved by making changes to the body.

These difficulties can be addressed by the application of readily-available and proven psychotherapeutic approaches, or in the case of children, by the natural process of maturation.

Any attempt to make physically alter a healthy body, or to interfere with the natural process of puberty is unethical and will always eventually be unsuccessful.

Psychology professionals should not involve themselves in any part of this practice, particularly by the offering of 'affirming' therapy or by making the spurious 'diagnosis' of Gender Dysphoria.

They should also not work with any other profession that provides surgical or hormonal interventions as a resolution for psychological difficulties.

Governing bodies should take action against any psychologists who do this.

And, just like that, the unquantifiable misery of the past 15 years or so would not have happened.
