“Sometimes, frustration and pain can push someone into committing terrible crimes. When I was young and was assaulted, I came close to doing something similar. I was weak, and I couldn’t go through with it.

I know what Christa Pike did was wrong, and I’m not trying to justify her actions. But she has now spent more than 30 years in prison and on Tennessee’s death row. I believe her sentence should be reconsidered, and I believe she deserves another chance.

The injection administered to her was supposed to end her life, yet after two injections, she was still alive. For those who believe in God, they may see her survival as a sign that she should be given mercy and another opportunity at life.
