Après huit années de travail intensif pour la création d’un Fonds de garantie pour les victimes du terrorisme – à travers, entre autres, des témoignages devant la Commission d’enquête parlementaire, des interventions au Parlement, des rappels répétés lors des préparatifs, et un soutien lors des procès dans des villes comme Bamako, Barcelone, Bruxelles, Paris, Stockholm et New York – ainsi que des conseils aux ministères, des recours devant le Conseil d’État et l’élaboration de bonnes pratiques au niveau européen, nous constatons avec satisfaction que ce fonds a été inclus dans l’accord de gouvernement.

V-Europe accueille chaleureusement cette étape importante, ainsi que les autres mesures visant à soutenir les victimes, à prévenir la radicalisation et à lutter contre le terrorisme. Nous nous réjouissons de collaborer avec le nouveau gouvernement pour continuer à œuvrer en faveur d’une reconnaissance juste des victimes, de leur rétablissement et de leur réintégration dans la société. Nous souhaitons également contribuer ensemble à la cohésion sociale et à une société plus sûre.

Na acht jaar intensief werken aan de oprichting van een Garantiefonds voor slachtoffers van terreur – via onder andere getuigenissen in de Parlementaire Onderzoekscommissie, tussenkomsten in het Parlement, herhaalde herinneringen tijdens de voorbereidingen, en ondersteuning bij processen in steden zoals Bamako, Barcelona, Brussel, Parijs, Stockholm en New York – evenals adviezen aan ministeries, beroepsprocedures bij de Raad van State en de ontwikkeling van goede praktijken op EU-niveau, zien we met voldoening dat dit fonds is opgenomen in het regeerakkoord.

V-Europe verwelkomt deze belangrijke stap van harte, samen met de andere maatregelen ter ondersteuning van slachtoffers, de preventie van radicalisering en de strijd tegen terrorisme. We kijken ernaar uit om, in samenwerking met de nieuwe regering, verder te bouwen aan een correcte erkenning van slachtoffers, hun herstel en re-integratie in de samenleving. Daarnaast willen we gezamenlijk bijdragen aan sociale cohesie en een veiligere maatschappij.

Today, 10 years ago, on January 15, 2015, a decisive counterterrorism operation took place in Verviers (Belgium), just a week after the Charlie Hebdo attacks in Paris. This action was pivotal in the fight against terrorism. It highlighted once again the essential role of our security and police services. Their efforts often go unnoticed, but thanks to their determination and perseverance, countless lives are saved. Our gratitude goes out to them for their invaluable work in protecting our society. 🙏

Ce 7 janvier 2025 ont eu lieu les cérémonies pour le 10e anniversaire des attentats de Charlie Hebdo et l'assassinat du policier Merabet. Mais aussi une cérémonie pour l'attentat à l'Hyper Cacher survenu deux jours après.

Notre Vice-Président Guillaume Denoix de Saint Marc, représentait V-Europe à Paris pour témoigner notre respect aux victimes décédées, et notre solidarité aux survivants et à toutes les victimes indirectes.

Sur la plaque dédiée aux victimes de Charlie Hebdo à été rajoutée le nom de Simon Fleschi, décédé le 17 octobre 2024 des suites de ses blessures visibles et invisibles.
