Neither provide what this team needs.

Unless Habs trade Evans or Danault I don’t see a centre spot for Kapanen, he’s not a 2C

Pickford is blocked by Dobson, this D corps needs more Ghule’s not more puck movers / offensive minded D

We need Reinbacher to make team otherwise we may need 2RHD one for top 4 and one to upgrade on Carrier’s lack of size

Monahan was the guy all along, I know he wanted term but good fit in locker room and a perfect 2C, could have signed him keep him as a place holder for Hage and be better served. Could always have traded him if Hage can slot in at 2C or slot Monahan down to 3C… now we have to pay assets to get a 2C when Monahan could have simply been signed and still got us 2 first round picks ( one that was used in move up trade to draft Hage the other to package for Dobson he was gift that kept on giving.

Same for Kovacevic, trading him for a 4th round pick just to keep Barron at the time, I guess they valued a mobile D in Barron over a big, gritty RHD that could actually support offense himself, now we need a big gritty RHD that can defend, skate and pass the puck

You insert Monahan and Kovacevic into this line up and 2 huge holes are filled.

Habs would not have to pay to send Gally to Vancouver, but taking back Chytil ,Ames no sense

Gally is a locker room aid, especially a room without character or leadership like Vancouver, with Gally it’s not about points
