@LukeCB14 I didn't hear no bell.
We have a handful of other emblems to get out to y'all. Need a few hooked up to codes for redemption. Will get to them as we can. May take a bit.
Many thanks to all who worked on this emblem.
Shout out to @Scapes for driving the final collection of Community emblems for MoT.
And thank you to every player who’s shown up over the years.
Much love. Always. 💛
Patch is slated for Tuesday. We usually need to lock down a few days early for cert and additional testing. While I know it would be a nice little change, think of the overall MoT package (Pantheon, Raid gear tiering, etc) as the love letter from the RAD folks directly to you and all of the raiders out there. 💛
Re: 30 second change: While setting the value to 1 glimmer may take less than 30 seconds, there are other checks and things that need to be done to ensure things worked.
Imagine we rush a patch job to shift the price and raid banners straight up just aren’t available to purchase anymore, or Hawthorne bugs out and can’t be interacted with anymore. Even the smallest change can have wake or break in an unexpected way. Gamedev is wild.
(And before someone hops in to yell SpAgHeTtI cOdE, videogames are fucking complex to build and maintain. Especially those that were built nearly a decade ago that have had hundreds upon hundreds of patches/tens of thousands of changes. Sorry, that’s reality!)
Feeling unending despair as I continually see Destiny 2 posts like “this was a really good and fun feature I liked it a lot” and then seeing a dev comment something like “we actually had to sacrifice our children to management to get this in the game” over and over
The last week has been difficult. Please continue to focus on those impacted by the reduction in force.
The industry is in a scary place right now employment wise. Wishing the best to all who need it, and hope to help where possible.
Its still so shocking to me how quickly it all just blew up
It wasnt but a little more than a month ago that we were right about to hear about the update and shattered cycle and the future
And then in what felt like a blink the game is done, no D3, and half the company is gone
Several of us in QA were still reproing the Seraphs shield and DSC elevator crashes on different consoles/framerates late into Weds night, with a goal of verifying the fix on our dev kits Thursday. Little did we know we wouldn’t get to verify it as we were all swept up in the layoffs. 🥺
It was an honor/bittersweet to close out D2 as MoT QA lead of the Immortal title triumphs and vendors.
Our MATT (most amazing test team) naturally ran thru almost 180 triumphs and all MoT vendor items/the character rendezvous/the cinematics triggering/the grass changing - one even tried to speed run it - you know who you are 😀
I wouldn’t trade them for the world and I’m so damn proud of us. We really wanted you all to feel the passion we put into making the triumph journey feel bug free and rewarding.
Hope that came thru.
If you played these activities thru D2 and liked them/did not hit TOO many bugs, we are glad 😌
And I say WE because it is always a team effort:
- Renegades golden path
- Edge of Fate Invitation intro mission and abilities (MB/relocator/translator)
- Final Shape lost sectors/secrets/combo testing of Dual Destiny exotic class items
- Lightfall full campaign and post game run thrus
- S19 Seraphs Shield exotic mission
- S18 Ketchrash 6 man activity
I guess I can rest now for a bit knowing the end of this journey is here and a new path awaits so many of us.
Thanks to all of you at bungie who worked with me in any way.
And thanks as always to the players - you made this game really feel alive.
Once a guardian, always a guardian ❤️❤️❤️
I was also one of the many impacted by the layoffs at Bungie this week.
My time went by in a blur, and I was amazed at the amount of talent that I got to work with: So many dedicated, creative, and thoughtful people that I had the pleasure of calling colleagues and friends.
Didn't talk much about my time at Bungie publicly, but just wanted to say how much gratitude I have towards my Activities and Events QA team. I'm very grateful for everyone I worked alongside, and I'm grateful to see the positive reception and thoughts towards the content we made
I've been laid-off along side an immense amount of incredible people at @Bungie/@PlayStation... Not new to layoffs, in my 20+ yrs in the game industry, but the last 5 yrs at #Bungie/@Sony was euphoric. I had the pleasure of working with the best team I could have ever dreamed of.
I got laid off from Bungie yesterday :(
It was a wonderful 3 and half years and I'm proud of the animation work I got to create on Marathon. No regrets, I got some good memories there. Wonderful people to work with. It's off to a new adventure somewhere now, wherever that may be
My role at PlayStation supporting Bungie has been eliminated.
It was truly amazing getting to work with such a talented team, and I love what we created during our time 🖤
It was a huge honor and privilege to spend nearly 12 years helping bring Raids and Dungeons to life. It means so much to me how many of you enjoyed the content, and built lasting bonds with people because of it.
Would have been 14 years at Bungie working on Destiny. Like MANY of us, I'm also affected by today's lay offs.
Thank you everyone I've had the privilege of working with <3 You are incredibly talented & the best of peoples.
Thank you Destiny community for your love & support <3
Although I tried to never talk too much about it, as the roles I had were never the biggest, I was also a part of the Bungie layoffs. My time as a RAD QA member were some of the greatest months I ever experienced, and I am thankful I was given the opportunity at all.
