So apparently none of the regular UK media knew this either. Or else they sat on it and no one offered the info up to Pope. And there was a KSR post recently justifying Pope stepping away from the media spotlight during recruiting. So who knew and didn’t share?
This has nothing to do with me (because I don’t cover MBB) or KSR. This is a general thing.
But when you close yourself off from outside help and information, you get scenarios like this.
Puts you in a downward branding/PR spiral. Kentucky looks like a circus right now.
@wildcatnews Us old guys have seen too much and been through too many cycles to get that bent out of shape. Is it disappointing, yes. Is it the end of UK, pretty sure it’s not.
This kind of slander is one reason I got out of sports reporting a lifetime ago. It can be a joy killer, especially for a young man, as I was and as Jacob is. It’s a hard job with long hours sometimes, and yahoos like this can make it a heavy load.
Jacob Polacheck is one of the best talents to come through this industry in a long time and is an unbiased journalist through and through. Not for a second have I ever questioned his integrity or commitment to bringing anything other than facts to the table -- good, bad or ugly.
He's excellent at what he does and the Kentucky beat is better with him on it. Period.
And if he hadn’t gone all in on Stokes he’d have been skewered by BBN and the media. He’s in a no-win situation of his own making, coupled with buzzard’s luck.
First, Mark Pope was criticized for not recruiting point guard depth. He signs two and now they say the two can’t play together.
You’re going to be criticized either way, so go out on your shield and recruit the team you want to coach because next season is all that matters.
Billy Donovan wanted to wait until end of season to make a decision on North Carolina and one source close to Donovan felt as though he might have taken it.
But source said that new North Carolina AD Steve Newmark panicked after Tommy Lloyd and Dusty May spurned the Tar Heels.
@Speedway@CoachFlubb89 I use it all the time “in person”. I pull up to a pump, open the app, click on Pay for Fuel - it knows where I am, asks which pump I’m on, and away we go! Works like a charm. Resets the pump price, and gives me a receipt when I’m done.
I measured 12-13” in my yard and 15” in the driveway at 10 am here in the Dayton Ohio area - still snowing, and they’re calling for 9-13” more by Monday morning. So the snowstorm may have been a bust in Kentucky, but it was as advertised here.
Ryan Hall and TG Shuck in the driver’s seat right now
Hall will likely be closest in Lexington but his his high number in Louisville gives Shuck s chance
Cantore likely to be closest of all but forecast came late
This game has been a turning point for KY’s season recently, with UK carrying injuries and disappointment into Knoxville with seemingly not much chance to win - but they surprise everyone. Hope they can pull that off at least one more time.
Anybody for an upset at noon tomorrow in Knoxville? Kentucky is a 6.5 pts underdog to No. 24 Tennessee with action set to begin on ESPN. UK is riding a 3-game winning streak over Vols on their home court. Can the Cats make it 4 straight?
Kentucky has added a plug-and-play starter at RG. Tegra Tshabola started 29 consecutive games for Ohio State until he had to miss the CFP this year due to a leg injury. Cincinnati native who brings positional size (6-6, 322) + experience to UK's OL.
