Virginia's firefighters put their lives on the line every day. They deserve schedules that protect their health.
HB1333 is about protecting the health of the firefighters who protect us. A 42-hour workweek helps reduce fatigue, improve wellness, and strengthen recruitment and retention.
Glad to see Norfolk leading the way. Now let's see more Virginia localities follow.
Contact your city or town council and ask them to support a 42-hour workweek for Virginia's firefighters!

A student struggling with their mental health shouldn’t also have to struggle to be understood.
Sometimes that means being able to explain what they’re feeling clearly. Sometimes it means support that reflects their experiences and how they communicate. It’s about making sure help actually works.
Organizations committed to this work joined me as Governor Abigail Spanberger signed HB1113, helping ensure schools have the guidance to deliver mental health support students can understand and connect with across language, background, and experience.
Because when students can communicate and connect, they’re far more likely to get the help they need.

Affordable housing strengthens our communities. 🏡

Today @VA_JET made history as Chair of the Virginia’s Boys and Men Advisory Commission – the first of its kind in the country. From education gaps to mental health outcomes, this group is getting to work for men and boys in Virginia.
Delivering big budgetary wins back home to our community! 🏛️💰✨
We fought hard in Richmond to bring your tax dollars back to work where they matter most. Proud to share two massive funding victories secured in the state budget:
$954,992 Secured for Western Tidewater Regional Jail (Suffolk, VA): Funding a complete security system replacement—upgrading cameras, access controls, and monitoring to maximize safety for both staff and inmates. 🔒🏢
$1 Million Secured for Virginia State University Agriculture (Petersburg, VA): Investing directly in our small farmers and agricultural research by supporting Cooperative Extension Services like the one in Suffolk and the Small Farm Outreach Program. 🌾🚜
These investments mean safer facilities for our workers and stronger resources for the farmers who feed Virginia. The work continues! 💪🏾🚀
