We are parents who believe that we all have a responsibility to each other and to keeping our communities safe from vaccine-preventable diseases. #vaccineswork
"Health organizations don't meet people where they are...like on mom Facebook groups." Kim Nelson of @VaccinateSC. Panelists agreed that #antivaxx sentiment has raisen due to effective sharing of misinformation, unscientific "facts", and misplaced fear/trust. #VaccinesSaveLives
“My kids are vaccinated because they are the most precious people in the world to me, and the thought of losing them to an easily preventable disease is unconscionable.” - Kim Nelson, @VaccinateSC. Let us know why you #GiveYourKidsAShot as we recognize #dayoffamilies today!
I need a few volunteers for the Sans Souci Health Fair in Greenville. You’d be representing SC Parents for Vaccines. The fair is May 18 from 10-2.
It’s just talking to parents about vaccines and handing out information. We’d love to see you there! #VaccinateSC
HPV prevalence drops by 86% since the introduction of #vaccine - more powerful evidence for HPV vaccine effectiveness https://t.co/KMUNzTTBYl #PreventCancer#VaccinesWork
We have been so disappointed in the reporting coming out of Myrtle Beach lately. Legitimizing anti-vaccine talking points can do real and lasting harm. Please stop giving Cowell a platform to hurt kids. #VaccinesSaveLives@wmbfnews@WBTWNews13@SC_AAP https://t.co/mbLnfxAsqc

Nothing is considered too cruel. Just days after their children died, mothers say anti-vaxers on social media called them whores, the c-word and baby killers.

Flying Paris-Frankfurt-Atlanta today and thanking my lucky stars that I had my #MMR vaccine (and titers). It’s 2019. This shouldn’t be a thing. #VaccinateYourKids#measlesoutbreak
We have to get creative if we want to change the vaccine landscape. Info sessions, collaborative efforts between specialists, public health outreach, and yes, parent to parent support. All of it. Thanks @ScaryMommy for helping us reach more parents https://t.co/l4KKdfgYzY
@BeckyJohnson222@NursesWhoVax Except that it has. Vaccines aren’t tested on pregnant women in clinical trials because that would be unethical. They are, however, extensively studied in post-licensure studies. You can read all about that process here with links to original studies. https://t.co/79oDlv7uet
Nurses, remind patients that if they have not received their flu vaccine, it's not too late. If patients have already caught the flu, it's still possible... https://t.co/CyvAa62y93
Agree 100%. It starts with reaching parents early and often. If we wait until they’re sitting in a pediatrician’s office with their child about to receive vaccines, that’s too late.
Honestly, I’m speechless. This is beyond cruel. That poor child endured utter agony and is lucky to be alive. For his parents to then CONTINUE to refuse vaccines, further exposing him to other VPDs? It’s clear they have lost all sight of what parental duty entails.
What. The. Hell.😡
So, these parents don’t vaccinate their kid...he gets TETANUS...😱...they couldn’t open his mouth for water...he spends 8 wks in hospital...somehow recovers...
...& they still won’t vaccinate him.🤦♂️
What? That wasn’t scary enough?!?🤬
