Police action will always be taken. The Supreme Court has given guidelines about this.

So when a movement leader asks you to participate in a protest at Parliament, know that they want you at Parliament so you are beaten by the police instead of them. And their agenda will be further intensifies because of it.

Even if BJP asks you in future to participate in March to Parliament, know that the reason is same.

Let’s see what these fast-track courts do and if they actually clean the rot. Extremely unlikely. Also, the solution to lethargy in judicial and police system is not to fix what is broken, but to create fast-track courts. I know these will take time but there needs to be urgency.

What we wanted was this level of active participation from PM and higher levels of Govt hierarchy from the outset to assauge fears of UMC people/their kids and give them confidence that solid steps will be taken to ensure justice.

Absolute incompetence in communication continues and frankly saw it's apotheosis on this particular issue.

I've no idea who advised them to not speak anything on this until things went out of hand.
