high functioning depression is scary as hell because you're very capable of hiding emotions, feelings and thoughts, so no one knows you're not okay and even if you say something no one realises the severity, because you don't seem like someone who is mentally spiralling out of control
I'm a firm believer that if you feel stuck or depressed in life it's because your soul is asking you to make a change or do something radically different and you're not listening.
Nobody likes you when you're depressed.
Plain and simple. We can talk all day about mental health and how important it is, but the moment you are depressed, people start to distance themselves. They see you as negative, a burden, and someone too heavy to handle.
There's something incredibly attractive about someone who's sure about you and never feels the need to hide it. Being openly loved is one of the best feelings in the world.
If they truly missed you, they would find a way to reach you. No amount of distance, pride or a busy life can stop someone from reaching out to a person they genuinely don’t want to lose.
Once the attachment wears off, they stop looking like your soulmate.
Suddenly they’re just an avoidant with a huge ego, terrible communication, zero accountability, and a full-time victim complex.
