Mass Effect 5/Universe was much further into development than people thought. I had heard that the story was done. So were the companions. NPCs. The new combat. New Quests approach and even Hubs. A TON of work was done on this game. It just needed more time. The buyout killed it.
Save Mass Effect is actually the MOST warranted request imaginable. You’re talking about a legacy of games that has never been replicated since. There’s nothing like it. And it’s valued cannot be measured in failures outside of itself. It’s worth saving
A Canadian political leader is calling for the government to help BioWare developers buy the studio from EA and run it themselves.
NDP leader Avi Lewis says the developers should get the first shot at taking control, with government support.
“The developers at BioWare know how to run the studio. They know how to make the games we all love.”
He also criticized corporate ownership, arguing that Canada should keep control of major game studios in Canadian hands.
@bioware has always inspired us, and it's hard to say goodbye to our idols. Thank you for everything, BioWare. Many of us wouldn’t be in the games industry without your legacy.
