Am I the only one who feels that making a game is a lot like that antibiotics in a petri dish experiment? You dig and try mechanics, hit a wall for a while and then suddenly discover a small breakthrough that opens up a lot of new possibilities
I'm not fully satisfied with actions mechanics in my game and I was thinking how to improve them. And.. I think I found smth really interesting. I'll probably finish balancing the game in its current state to share it with people and get feedback. But then I will try new idea
Just a couple of points left on my board before I can focus on playing the game and setting up balance. The goal is to polish 30 minutes of gameplay enough to share with a closed circle of people
@i_am_feenster Well, I prefer not to see auto generated ones :) They are just hidden in the engine.
But it's nice to have some .txt file that is filled from user inputs during gameplay.
E.g. in my case just corner types: 01100120, where 1 is regular house corner and 2 is corner with a door
@heynico_mp4 I'd say the closest point of reference here is Anno games: similar production chains, trading routes. I just don't know the scope of the game yet. Have some ideas about worker actions to explore in the future: conditions, modifications, etc.
Hey! I'm making a City Builder game where you set up production using worker actions. You'll need to choose the right actions to achieve optimal stats and improve performance of your buildings
@retro66boy Well, I don't think I'll add extra people into that circle. The build will be rough and I don't want to break expectations for other people. Although, I hope it will change later this year. We'll see
