OFFICIAL: Rwanda wants to launch a brand-new WorldTour level cycling race starting in 2027 😍
And I’m absolutely here for it. The WorldTour calendar expanding beyond Europe is such a win, early February could really use another stage race, and Rwanda has already proven how brilliantly they can organize cycling events. 🇷🇼

It is NO SECRET that I am a big fan of President Kagame and Republic of Rwanda. A man who helped bring back sanity in a small nation where close to one million people were killed purely based on their ethnicity.
Once he managed to stop the genocide he never went on a revenge mission . It take alot of sacrifice for people to accept the word sorry and forgive the killers. Rwanda adopted the Gacaca court and it is the first in the world .
He says survivors were asked the impossible, “We could not allow people to take justice into their own hands. We had to break the cycle of violence, and convert the urge for vengeance into a national programme of unity and reconciliation,”
He says while hundreds of thousands of people deserved to go to jail for life, or even be hanged, by any measure of justice, the death penalty was immediately abolished. Did you know that? Before you yap endlessly on what should happen to PK and Rwanda.
He goes ahead to say “We, therefore, had to ask the survivors of Genocide for the impossible, in order to restore our nation. To swallow their anger and bitterness. To live together again with those who they had watched murder their loved ones, as their own children flourished,”
This is quite emotive when he says “I could not ask anything of the perpetrators. Only the survivors had something left to give: Their forgiveness.”
I am very happy to see that President Kagame is addressing leaders globally what it means walking in his shoes and what it means to ordinary Rwandans.
Anyone asking what happens when PK leaves , I have a question for you , why are you playing God?
I have no doubt in my mind that Rwanda is now anchored on strong foundation and institutions work. No one is asking why India or Germany same leaders will keep running for office term after term.
PK will leave office when time is right, as long as he has the energy to keep Rwanda thriving let him do what he does best care and look after Rwanda. His main goal is to ensure that the genocidieres don't make a come back.
I have repeatedly said that a killer who was 30 in 1994 is now 60 and in next 5 or 10 years majority will be too old to repeat the abominable act. A child born in 1994 is now 30 and one who was 10 years is now 40 and they are the future of Rwanda.
Let Rwanda be and let them heal in their own special way.
If you really want to help then Sudan, Syria, Eritrea need your help certainly NOT Rwanda.
As always I choose to remain an optimist as I wish President @PaulKagame good health and long life . Rwanda succeeding is Africa succeeding.
