Not to digress, but there's a reason why there's so much excitement when Electoral victories are announced. And it's definitely not because of the enormous sacrifices it entails; otherwise, the actual burden & task involved should make man sobber. But then....
Adeleke: My Victory Is A Victory For Democracy And The People Of Osun
This is a victory for the people of Osun who have stood by me and acknowledged the work I have done. They recognise the dividends of democracy in Osun in terms of infrastructure, improved education, agriculture and much more. This win is simply a gesture of ‘thank you’. I will repay this gesture by ensuring the state moves from a civil-service state to a fully developed commercial state. I expect the APC candidate, Mr. Oyebamiji, to call and congratulate me. President Tinubu has also called to congratulate me.

Ekwulobia postpones New Yam Festival over kidnapping of Jowizaza’s father.
The kidnapping of billionaire Sir Joseph Ezeokafor has thrown his hometown of Ekwulobia, Anambra State, into confusion and mourning.
Community leaders took the rare decision to postpone the annual New Yam Festival, a decision said to be unprecedented.
Residents felt it was inappropriate to celebrate while such a prominent and wealthy son remains in captivity.

We have 2 golds: Chimdiebube Onwubiko and Don Anele Munachimso.
We are the best in the world!
Egejurum Onyedikachi’s name was omitted. He should have a gold.
If you understand who this man actually is, and what "finacial" role he has been playing in this country since the military regime, you'll take a sit and stop smiling.
Tinubu’s Economic Reforms Have Made Nigeria Africa’s Most Attractive Investment Destination — Minister Abubakar Bagudu
Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Bagudu, has said President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms have positioned Nigeria as Africa’s most attractive investment destination by improving macroeconomic stability and restoring investor confidence.
Bagudu made the remarks while speaking at the Third Hamburg Sustainability Conference in Hamburg, Germany, where he said the reforms had created opportunities for long-term investments in infrastructure, energy, agriculture, manufacturing, digital innovation and climate-resilient development.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning on Thursday, the minister reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to sustaining reforms that strengthen fiscal stability, encourage private sector participation and create an enabling environment for both local and foreign investors.
He added that Nigeria would continue to deepen partnerships with the international community to mobilise sustainable investment, strengthen economic resilience and accelerate the country’s transition to a more competitive, inclusive and climate-responsive economy.
On the sidelines of the conference, Bagudu met with officials of the German-African Business Association and European financial institution ODDO BHF, where discussions focused on sustainable forestry, carbon credit financing, climate finance and green investments. Representatives of the financial institution reportedly commended the Federal Government’s economic reforms, saying recent policy measures had significantly improved Nigeria’s investment outlook.
The minister also held talks with the H2Global Foundation on Nigeria’s potential to become a major producer and exporter of green hydrogen. The meeting ended with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning and the foundation to collaborate on developing Nigeria’s hydrogen economy.
I studied architectural design in Cameroon and every architect they taught me was European. Every movement, every theory, every name on the required reading list. The Great Mosque of Djenné, the Moorish arch, Great Zimbabwe never appeared on any syllabus.
Now I am studying management and every economist is Western. George Ayittey, a Ghanaian who built an entire economic framework for African development, has never appeared in a single lecture. Dambisa Moyo, a Zambian economist who argued that Western aid is destroying African economies, same.
Two disciplines. Not one African name in the required reading.
This is not only an architecture problem. It is medicine, law, economics, history. Every field is taught through a foreign lens and when a student tries to think beyond it they are disciplined for it.
We are not behind because we lack knowledge. We are behind because we were taught that ours does not count.
