A flashpoint for conflict is when shopworkers ask for proof of age. Technology exists which will do #AgeVerification in shops more accurately than human beings who are notoriously bad at estimating age or spotting fake ID, and it would save us all time and contact at checkouts.
We won’t waste time with endless encouragement for those who knowingly or deliberately break the rules. Those ignoring the regulations should expect to receive a fixed penalty notice.
We always want to enhance your experience with us. We have created a #Contact and Communication channel on our new #website where you can get any queries and doubts relating to age check systems and age verification answered instantly. Get in touch today! https://t.co/C8DXHZLoS7
@chrisshambrook@DrJamieBarker@SportingSuccess The Home Office discorage using passports for proof of age - expensive to replace and potential for criminals toto use for serious identity fraud
One of the best things to come out of 2020 is that I now have to carry ID with me due to the amount of times I've been asked for proof of age at the supermarket. I mean, I'm in my 30s but hey, I'm gonna take it as a compliment
We’ve been pleased to contribute to setting the core principles for the new #SafetyTech working group for @DPAlliance. I’d urge anyone with interest in reducing online harms to engage with this parliamentary group to help get these laws right. https://t.co/2g3h9XSG08
@kirstytho1985@WeAreTotum@AsdaServiceTeam@nusuk@asda It’s not offered as an option for proving your age. The display of your card on the app comes with a notification that’s it’s not a substitute for a physical, official PASS card.
An older delivery guy just came to the door saying I had to show ID and proof of age for my parcel (I’d ordered a kitchen knife) but when he looked at me he said ‘never mind’
Rude!
Great example from Adam Hogwood at @BudgensBstairs of how test purchasing can help in training colleagues to check for proof of age more often. Works really well as part of a @CAPUKTweets partnership where everyone is committed to improving standards.
@TheDanHayman @megancantle99 It’s a great film, a journey into hell but with a sci-fi premise. Make sure you have your PASS proof of age card for Event Horizon 2
@kirstytho1985@WeAreTotum@AsdaServiceTeam@nusuk@asda The ASDA staff were following protocol as digital proof of age is not licensed yet. Physical PASS cards are accepted because they have security features that trained staff can check as due diligence
@spacegirlgail Retailers are right to ask for ID and proof of age as they must comply with licensing conditions. Consumers can easily apply for cost effective, PASS proof of age cards, which protect retailers and buyers
