Some games I’m still thinking about years or months after finishing them.
They all moved me because of their gameplay, their interactivity. None of them would have worked on me as a movie.
Variety and differences is what makes us awesome as humans. Why would we want to limit it?
Anyone who isn’t against this type of messaging about trans people and our fundamental freedom of political and religious affiliation is nobody I want to know or be associated with.
This entire administration is ragebait but there’s a time and place to push back and heres one
Very proud of how this one came out. It was a huge effort and everyone involved absolutely killed it!
Fun fact: I literally got hit with a blizzard IRL while mixing this episode. Life imitates art or something.......
This week had season finales for 3 of my fav series. Frieren, JJK, and Oshi no Ko all coincidentally being some of the most astonishingly well directed anime in the industry. They had me emotionally locked in every single week. It's been a great few months (for anime at least)
There are many reasons to resist AI (e.g. environmental harm, the power it gives to states/corporations, intellectual theft), but perhaps the biggest one for me is that, despite it all, I still believe that the human intellect is miraculous, irreplicable, & worth fighting for.
I've noticed a rising trend among VAs in the past few months:
- mixing, engineering, and signal chain processing your audio
for a few reasons, please don't do this.
the exception being, you are paid to engineer, in which case, go off, get your bag. Even then, don't be so eager that you debase the value of someone else's living. like, be mindful
Here's what up:
- Engineers know, there is no "one mix fits all". whatever steps™️ you might be following should be case-circumstantial. If you don't know the needs and *finished context of a production, you wont know when your mix approach needs to change. and if you don't know how those considerations change a mix, it's ambitious but uninformed
- If there's already an engineer on the project, you are essentially waxing a floor that cannot be un-waxed, when waxing every floor the same, is the sole purpose which they were hired for. you just made that impossible
- If you don't know or charge standard rates, that can destabilize fair rates for everyone, even actors. and even if you're willing to work for free or undercut, you set a precedent for every other VA on the project. Don't be that person
- Especially don't do this on auditions. The project is trash if they expect you to do this without paying you for additional services. I said it and I'm not sorry but we've all seen VAs get taken advantage of. processing your auditions is also just dishonest. that's not how your raw audio sounds and it will backfire if you get cast and your quality sounds different
I'm not going over "raw" vs "not raw", I'm not telling anyone what to charge. But if someone is telling you to perform engineering and cannot succinctly correct course to "an engineer should be hired", it's probably a sham and you're probably the victim.
Today's JJK episode and the Higuruma stuff from last episode are probably like a top 5 section in the whole series for me so far. Even setting aside the actual story, the direction is just so good.

It's wild to me to see some people act as if it's inconceivable that Gege would intentionally put trans/gnc/queer characters into his story. I'm not a manga reader so my perspective is limited, but the evil of conservative ideologies seems to be one of the major themes of JJK.
As for the gender stuff, seems to me the literal only options are:
1) Kirara is transfem and in a het relationship with Hakari (my belief)
2) Kirara is a GNC man in a gay relationship with Hakari
idk man both seem pretty woke to me! not sure how else you can spin all this stuff
