Ah yes, the NFL once again heroically protecting the fragile feelings of professional football players.
Cam “Scattaboo” Skattebo committed the unforgivable crime of… running the football hard and lowering his helmet while trucking a defender. The refs immediately threw the flag for “unnecessary roughness” because apparently delivering a hit as a ball carrier is now a personal foul.
Next week they’ll fine him for breathing too aggressively or existing with intent.
This is not the NFL you grew up watching. It’s flag football with better commercials and worse officiating.

Anyone who feels this way can’t do simple math. No one my age thinks we’re going to get social security. We all know we’re paying for a socialist program destined to run out of money long before we get to retirement age. Not only should our taxes NOT be raised, but we should be able to opt out entirely AND our taxes should be cut. I’d have far more saved for retirement by investing all the money that I’ve paid into social security. It’s criminal that I’m forced to pay into something that I’ll never get unless I ask my kid’s generation to go into crippling debt to pay for my retirement. The whole thing fails unless you get a new group of people to pay for the previous group. And by the way, that’s the definition of a Ponzi scheme. I wish people realized what the long game with TPM 2.0 being required in windows 11 is all about. Not only is that information shipped off to Microsoft to track your computers activity along with the GDID and other unique info.

But anticheats, game studios, other types of software, etc gather this information as well. And since most companies make more money off selling your data to third parties they have a vested interest in tracking you and your activity as well and reselling it to governments and other companies.

Imagine how these "bans" for everything from cheating, piracy, EULA/ToS violations, etc will disrupt and harm peoples lives in the future at the wider scale

Banned from Xbox?? Well now you can't login tommorow for Work or 95% of tech jobs at companies because they require windows, Microsoft 365, etc. And you never can again cause your banned at the identity level.

Banned from steam? Now you lose all your games and can never purchase a game through steam ever again for life.

Banned from google? Now you lose your email, YouTube access, google access, files in google drive, Gemini activity, etc all alternate accounts and their data and every site/service dependent on these emails is now permanently in limbo. Your phone suddenly loses access to authenicator, to your phone backups, to google photos, and becomes a glorified paper weight, and your unable to own a stock android ever again.

TPM, Secure Boot, etc will be the enforcement mechanisms at the OS and hardware layers down the line for attestation, "lock in", etc.
