@WhatTheADHD Fun fact, I heard that bird noise calms our nervous system. Silence means the birds are scared of a predator in the forest and our primitive system kicks in!
@StructuredSucc Our brain learns this, sometimes without awareness, so we end up changing how we approach every task to get some novelty and interest.
Before being diagnosed, I wondered why I would start a project with a system redesign. it was to find novelty and interest from this boring job.
@ADHDdesigner Getting to the end of the day and being stressed, despite having done nothing.
This is why I love holidays, its like a line in the sand to forget about the rest of the to do list.
Then overcommit during a period of stress free living and start the cycle again ;)
@rahul23_4 Find someone you can work alongside, I do a weekly cleaning sprint (I hate cleaning) but because I clean while on a call with others I can get it done. I save body doubling for the hard but important stuff, planning, cleaning, working out and deep work (focus).
@ADHDdesigner Heard this described as the 'Night Watchmen theory', that its evolutionary to have a member of a group/tribe with a different circadian rhythm.
@AdultingADHD Totally agree job applications suck, I've just started using a custom GPT that has my resume and cover letter and I upload the job description and ask it to rewrite. It removes a lot of friction for me. Now I just need to stop applying for jobs.
@Pam_Rubin1 First one I made was just a playlist of my knowledge, completly useless other than to my ego. Always be clear what the zero to hero outcome is for any course and cut anything not relevant, or add as bonus content.
@coachcamg Hey Cameron, I've had the same thought. But how do we make people aware, I think get that attention first for something helpful, otherwise the attention is one something even less helpful on socials.
