Antipartisan. Data over Opinions. Sometimes sarcastic. Blocking people on Twitter lets them know they won. Retweet without comment = ALWAYS endorsement.
@LordDrakulzen@Mr_Al_Dixon @rcn400 I think we've outgrown representative democracy.
If you've got 15 minutes to watch a Ted Talk, this guy lays out basically the sort of system I've been saying we need to transition to for over a decade. Far more eloquently than I can write in a tweet.

Screwworm, a dangerous flesh eating maggot parasite that burrows into the living tissue of animals had been eradicated in the US for decades.
That is until Trump ousted thousands of staff from the USDA pest prevention office.
@DaAngryOstrich My grandfather had a purple martin box when I was little and he was still alive.
I didn't know much about them at the time, but I remember Mom saying he would shoot the sparrows with a pellet gun because they were such a pain for the purple martins.
@FPWellman@tree_maidenhair That's the purpose of health insurance: people who don't need it now are paying in to fund those who do.
This idiot calling those funding the system "illegitimate" when the real leeches are the giant insurance companies milking from the middle. π
@staceeyeewell I admit I don't see a lot of value in seeking out either of these. π€
Better to seek out someone who wants to go on adventures with you, irrespective of where you happen to be on your path. Ideally you end up growing, together, as a byproduct of your shared experiences.
@SnowHimbo@mortalenema I grow earthworms; they benefit me by eating compost & shitting. I have a tank of fish that I feed & clean because they're enjoyable to watch.
A proper system/society should support its inhabitants for what they naturally produce rather than what they're expected to produce.
@FeistyLibLady@Treasonweaselhu Judging from our electoral choices in the past decade we just might elect Vivek. The only saving throw is his own party might be too racist to elect a brown man.
I've no doubt he'll be a disastrous governor, but that's what the conservative party has devolved into.
Sunday afternoon project: Pressure wash, sand & stain the top of the picnic table.
Today I learned the tape they put on sanding belts apparently gets old. Broke 3 belts from 2 different packs before resorting to a new pack of belts. Last one finished the job.
@AI__Angelo Exactly this.
I've had stupid responses from stupid people who read my post as wholly anti-AI, when I declared the problem is in trying to make AI do things we were already doing well, instead of focusing on what humanity has need of. Solve wars? Nah, let's make more cat videos.
The greatest failure of AI is not in its inception, its capability, or even its own shortcomings.
The failure is that "brilliant" people choose to deploy AI in so many places where there was no need, making its detriment to society & its resource cost entirely unjustifiable.
AI is replacing the cheapest labor work with the most expensive infrastructure ever built. And failing to accomplish these simple tasks. Everyone hates AI.
