Problem #2: Understanding huge codebases. So the goal was to make a few contributions to open source repositories. Forget about finding a bug, it is taking so much time just to understand the repository.
Hundreds of files. Dozens of folders. No clue where to start.
How do peeps in corporate get dropped into massive codebases and actually understand whatโs going on?
Please help me out here: Whatโs the best way to explore an unfamiliar repo without reading every single file?
Problem #1 : I'm currently looking for a job role that best fits with my requirement. Finding such jobs is a very tedious process. I want to automate it.
For that I want to build an agent that runs everyday to find the right jobs and also submits an application.
Of course, some applications will need information or decisions that an agent shouldn't guess. In those cases, it should stop and ask me.
Let's see how far I can automate my own job hunt ๐
Day 6 ๐ปGPT-6 Astra made me realize something - maybe itโs mostly the execution that can be automated.
But what about finding the right problems to solve?
Sure, LLMs can come up with problems too. But noticing a problem at the right time, understanding who actually faces it, and deciding whether itโs worth solving? I think thatโs still very much our job.
So Iโve decided to start doing something alongside my daily learning :
Whenever I notice a problem that I think needs solving, Iโm going to post about it. Could be tech, healthcare, everyday life - literally anything.
And with all the tools we have today, why stop at identifying the problem?
Why not try building a solution to it too?
Let's see where this goes
Day 3 ๐ปPicked the Hugging Face smolagents repository to hopefully make a contribution!
Progress is a little slow because Iโm learning how agents actually work while also going through the codebase. Hopefully, Iโll be able to find a bug soon ๐ค
Till then, Iโll share what Iโve understood about agents so far in brief!
My subconscious mind has become very creative. My dream was soo interesting that I actually wanted to write it down and post it :) https://t.co/mMP4mzFojr
Day 1 ๐ป Lately, I've been coming across a lot of stories about Lord Krishna. Today I decided to actually sit down and understand him in depth.
Safe to say, I came out with more questions than answers ๐ญ
I'm really in awe for the kind of stories there are about him. Too good man. How can someone be so incredibly complex yet seem so perfect?
On the learning/building side of things - I submitted an assignment to a company today! I built a school portal connecting teachers, students and parents using Zoho CRM + Creator.
Let's see how that goes ๐ค
not so exciting day 1 :) Update for day 2: I'm going to explore open source repositories and hopefully raise 1 PR at least.
I recently completed my internship as an SDE intern and didn't get a full-time offer there :(
Days passed into weeks, weeks passed into months, and somehow it's already been 2 months.
It's Sept 1st now, and for a change, I want this month to be exciting. And very, very productive.
So I've decided on one simple thing:
Every single day, I learn something new. Could be something completely random. I don't care. I just want to be curious again.
Life has to be exciting man ๐ญ There's clearly something I'm doing wrong and idk what it is.
So here's to an exciting (hopefully) September ๐ฅ
Hi,
I'm currently a 4th year CSE engineering student in India. I'm passionate about healthcare + tech and Iโm fascinated by the epic outcome it has.
I'm just kinda lost and I wanted to know what my options are? What paths I have to take? Your guidance would really help me :)
@srikarsmile Sure...that's really interesting! I'll look into it! Thankss:)
Also any inputs if I had to study further in this field in some really good universities?
