Look at Paul clapping at the end, such huge respect for Art's singing! I heard an interview many years ago with Paul Simon where he said after he wrote the song, he knew that Art had to sing lead on it because he's one of the greatest singers ever. And he was right.

@KTrain939913 Get your information straight. Alex Edward and Mark Stone formed the band mammoth then when David Lee Roth joined they changed the name to Van Halen after a period of time Mark Stone left the group and they found Michael Anthony.

Interesting trivia on Van Halen and the names they went by in the years.

In 1964, the very first band Eddie and Alex Van Halen started was called the Broken Combs. They later went by Trojan Rubber Co.

Around 1971–1972, the brothers (with bassist Mark Stone) renamed the group Genesis. They were mostly a cover band at this point.
They changed the name to Mammoth after discovering Genesis was already taken as a band name.

In 1973-1974, the band finally settled on Van Halen.
