We start with our Manager, Business Operations Vanessa Stratton who is not only an integral member of the Sports & Recreation team but has also been a high level hockey official for over 20 years, now serving as the only female on the IIHF Officiating Committee & one of just 36 officiating coaches worldwide.

@lwdyment @docrinki @BenSteiner00 @UNBMHockey Windsor took UQTR to 3-OT in the OUA final. I could see the point on Concordia, but Windsor should be either 4/5 for sure. And 2nd OUA team typically falls in that 4/5 spot historically.

This weekend, 16 of our top officials gathered in Brampton for our first-ever Elite Women’s Training Camp. Camp opened with two intense days of discussion-based classroom sessions and on-ice practices, followed by two days of game assignments. Great work, everyone!

Day 2 of camp was centered around the concept of “competing as teammates”, led by National Officiating Coach Vanessa Stratton. Officials worked through self-reflection on their role within the team, principles of play, and best practices for communication.

@stephrwhite11 The good ones definitely outweigh those that have been part of the problem with the culture of hockey. More male hockey leaders need to emulate behaviours and change that @DHanoomansingh and BR do, especially for female hockey.
