@WingEmperorBD@g2013kareevk@GIRetardedTake Thank you. It seems I understood you correctly then. I would've appreciated for the conversation to remain civil all the way through, but tis twatter dot com, I'm afraid. I can happily enjoy disagreeing with you and bringing an end to this convo ๐
@WingEmperorBD@g2013kareevk@GIRetardedTake I see. Let's see if I understood you correctly. Say I set a game called the "Remulus empire" and the ruler is an emperor called "Gaius Augustus". Would you find it enjoyable to see such empire having both the Big Ben, cars and have the common tongue be some version of Spanish?
@WingEmperorBD@g2013kareevk@GIRetardedTake "points in both *design* and name to multiple things, some of which are anachronistic"
You missed a very important word there.
@WingEmperorBD@g2013kareevk@GIRetardedTake In what way is it a misconception where the structure of each "tribe" is "tribal" with chiefs, the rituals, the sages and all?
@WingEmperorBD@g2013kareevk@GIRetardedTake And that's the whole difference between Chasca and Tez. Chasca points in both design and name to multiple things, some of which are anachronistic. Tez, while he uses anachronistic tech, points to a specific time and place.
@WingEmperorBD@g2013kareevk@GIRetardedTake That's why I worded my initial reply of the cowboy hat and the furs being called "Mayan dress" while mariachi music plays. Because even llaneros/gauchos and cowboys have distinct looks and history despite being loosely related.
@WingEmperorBD@g2013kareevk@GIRetardedTake Her lore. She has that abyss energy sickness and nothing to show for it. She also grew up with the saurians, so, feral child adopted into the tribe later.
@WingEmperorBD@g2013kareevk@GIRetardedTake But even disregarding the roots of the name, Chasca's design doesn't sell the idea of "feral child with terminal illness that can kill her and others" either.
@WingEmperorBD@g2013kareevk@GIRetardedTake Yes indeed. And tell me, if one were to pick its inspiration, what would be closer? A cowboy as an inspiration for the goddess of beauty and fertility? Or a cowboy as an inspiration for the spirit of a tragic Juliet that lives in the river with her Romeo?
@WingEmperorBD@g2013kareevk@GIRetardedTake It could not possibly be the fact that you can tell at a glance that Tez is inspired on a culture while you could show Chasca to someone unfamiliar with genshin and not exactly know the region she's supposed to embody, right? I see.
@WingEmperorBD@g2013kareevk@GIRetardedTake There's a reason why I asked for those detailed threads. Because, by all means, if the research is there, it should be as easy to point out as it is with Tez's design. I might just not know where to look for now, yknow?
@WingEmperorBD@g2013kareevk@GIRetardedTake You sure are quick to draw conclusions, albeit the wrong ones. Here. I'll throw you a bone. What could be the reason I could be enjoying one but not the other? I could point to a lot of things FGO's Tez makes up for the sake of the game, but I can enjoy him and LB7 as a story.
