As we get closer to finishing our parents house and getting it ready to say our last goodbye to our childhood home, I kept finding myself pulled back into the garage… to the one thing I just couldn’t leave behind. So over the last two days, I took it apart piece by piece, loaded it into my truck making several trips, and brought it home with me.
My dad’s workbench.
To most people, it’s just a workbench. But to me… it’s the place where I grew up without even realizing it. I spent countless hours standing beside my dad at that bench handing him tools, watching him work, fixing the unfixable, building his vision, and tinkering while learning without him ever having to “teach.” That bench has seen thousands of projects, and when I look at it, I can still picture him standing there, focused, determined, doing what he loved.
And of course… I can still hear him scolding us to put the tools back where they belonged 🤣. Meanwhile we all knew he was the main one not putting them back. I’d spend hours cleaning it off, organizing everything, putting each tool in its rightful spot, knowing that in a few months I would be doing it again.
Now it’s in my garage. His workbench. His stories. His fingerprints in every scratch and stain.
It will never be “just a workbench” to me. It’s a piece of him I get to carry forward… and a place where I’ll relive his memories while I start creating memories of my own.

Hey @FreddyLA7
It’s a beautiful night in the finger lakes, isn’t it?
Want to come to @SyracuseU tomorrow? Would love to show you around and maybe introduce you to @TheOttoOrange and give you a ride on the Ottomobile!
The little things don’t seem important in the moment. Then one day you realize they were the reason everything worked out. Do the little things right today.

On Father’s Day, we celebrate the men who teach us values that last far longer than wins and losses: faith, character, accountability, and unconditional love. Men, it's our most important job!
Fathers Day thought. I am not better than anyone else but I am saying this from a place of experience and failure. Don’t waste your summers playing sport. Go on trips. Make memories. Let them enjoy being a kid! When they get to HS their summers are taken with sport anyways.
