Okay but this is officially the best hiring story ever. A company in Mexico rescued an orange stray cat and decided not only to keep him… but to hire him.

They named him Engineer Miauricio and gave him the title of Emotional Support Director. His responsibilities include smiling at coworkers, gently meowing, and walking around the office making everyone’s day better.

Він повернувся.

Його кроки нерішучі на землі, яку він упізнає, але не наважується прийняти як реальність. Кордон уже позаду, та його тіло ще цього не знає. Тоді він падає навколішки. Він цілує землю. Не як вивчений жест, а як той, хто хапається за життя, торкнувшись небуття.

Українська земля холодна, шорстка, жива. Вона ніколи йому не брехала. Вона ніколи його не зраджувала. І вперше за багато місяців — можливо, років — він плаче без страху.

Він плаче за тим, що в нього відібрали.
Він плаче за ночами без неба.
Він плаче за приглушеними криками, за іменами, прошепотілими в темряві, за тими, хто не повернувся.

Його тіло несе сліди ув’язнення, але найбільше говорить його погляд. Погляд, у якому жах не зміг убити людяність. Погляд, що бачив, як низько може впасти людина… і все ж обрав залишитися людиною.

Перед ним земля мовчить. Вона приймає. Вона розуміє.

Бо він протистояв не лише стінам чи кайданам. Він зіткнувся з холодною машиною, з організованою ніччю, з системою, що прагне стерти обличчя, зламати волю, перетворити людей на цифри, на тіні, на мовчання.

Темрява не завжди кричить. Іноді вона адмініструє. Вона підписує. Вона зачиняє двері й називає це порядком.

Але темрява не перемогла.

Бо чоловік, що стоїть навколішки, цілуючи свою землю зі сльозами, сильніший за будь-які ґрати.
Бо серце, яке не зламалося, — це поразка для тих, хто хоче все знищити.
Бо людяність, навіть поранена, навіть тремтлива, залишається світлом, яке неможливо повністю загасити.

Сьогодні з ним має плакати вся земля.
Не лише від болю.
Але й від поваги.
І від обіцянки: ніколи не відвертати погляд, коли тінь вважає, що може панувати без свідків.

Today, a Ukrainian serviceman was returned from captivity who had been considered killed for more than three years since September 2022.

In May 2023, after DNA analysis and a match, his family even held a funeral for him.
