A Native American heritage nonprofit, a bioinformatics tol, and a UNESCO cultural heritage campaign all have one thing in common: someone bought their old web addresses and turned them into people-search funnels selling personal data.

Our research engineer Alex Mulfinger tracked down how it happened. He pulled WHOIS records, checked certificate transparency logs, and compared Wayback Machine snapshots to pin down exactly when each domain changed hands.

Jim Routh has been a CISO six times over. His read on where security is heading? The human-in-the-loop model is running out of road.

The reason is speed. If an attack finishes before an analyst can read the alert, the alert isn't a defense. Routh's answer borrows from biology.
