MLB PLAY #1 🔥
Cole Young UNDER 0.5 Singles ⚾️
Young has gone without a single in 9 of his last 10 games, including 7 straight entering today. He’s averaging just 0.1 singles per game over his last 10, with his only single during that entire stretch coming against the Cubs on August 21.
The Toronto history backs it up as well. Young has now gone 3 straight games against the Blue Jays without recording a single, including yesterday’s game in Toronto.
Young’s recent numbers:
• 0 singles in 9 of his last 10 games
• 0 singles in 7 straight games
• Just 0.1 singles per game over his last 10
• 0 singles in 3 straight vs Toronto
• .256 AVG vs RHP this season
• 32.7% hard-hit rate vs RHP
He’ll face Jose Soriano, who has held hitters to a .229 AVG this season. Left-handed hitters are batting just .242 against him, and Soriano has allowed 57 singles across 345 batters faced against lefties.
Young has also struggled directly against Soriano, going 0-for-4 with 2 strikeouts, recording neither a hit nor a single in their previous matchups.
With Young riding a 7-game streak without a single, three straight without one against Toronto, and an 0-for-4 history against today’s starter, I like him to stay UNDER 0.5 singles again. 🔒
MLB PLAY #2 🔥
Otto Lopez UNDER 1.5 Total Bases ⚾️
Lopez has been held to 1 or fewer total bases in 12 of his last 15 games, averaging just 0.9 total bases per game during that stretch.
A big reason I like this line is that Lopez hasn’t been producing many extra bases. In his last 10 games, he’s finished with exactly 1 total base five times and 0 total bases twice, meaning 7 of those 10 games would have comfortably stayed below this line.
Recent production:
• UNDER in 12 of his last 15
• Just 0.9 TB per game during that stretch
• 0 or 1 TB in 7 of his last 10
• Only 3 games with 2+ TB over his last 10
• Five separate 1 TB performances over his last 10
Jake Kent’s overall numbers have been rough in a limited sample, but he was better in his previous work against Miami, allowing 7.71 H/9 across 4.2 innings compared to 10.95 H/9 overall.
Lopez needs either multiple hits or an extra-base hit to beat us here, something he’s managed in just 3 of his last 15 games. I like him to stay UNDER 1.5 total bases. 🔒
Andrew Vaughn OVER 0.5 Singles ⚾️
5 ❤️ For My Next Play!
Vaughn has recorded a single in 9 straight games, clearing this line in every game since August 15. He has 12 singles over that 9-game stretch, including multiple singles in 3 of those games.
His matchup against a lefty is another major reason I like this spot. Vaughn has crushed LHP this season:
• .360 AVG vs LHP
• .400 BABIP vs LHP
• 45.5% hard-hit rate vs LHP
• 17 singles across 105 PA vs LHP
• .307 AVG overall this season
He faces LHP Cody Bradford, who has allowed a .312 AVG and .353 BABIP overall this season. Bradford has been better specifically against righties, but RHB have still recorded 9 singles across 61 batters faced against him.
Vaughn has also recorded a single in 7 of his last 8 home games, averaging 1.1 singles per game during that stretch. He’s averaging 3.9 plate appearances, and he has received 4+ PA in 14 of the 20 games shown, giving him solid opportunity for a line that only requires one single.
The biggest factor for me is the combination of Vaughn's 9-game singles streak and .360 average against left-handed pitching. I like him to extend the streak to 10 tonight. 🔒
Ernie Clement UNDER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs ⚾️
80% Hit Rate Last 10 Games
5 ❤️ For My Next Play
Clement has been held to 1 or fewer H + R + RBI in 8 of his last 10 games, including 5 straight games at home. Across those 5 home games, he’s averaging just 0.6 H + R + RBI per game.
The lefty matchup is another reason I like the UNDER. Clement is hitting .258 against LHP this season with an 87.7 wRC+, compared to a .282 average overall. Across 164 PA vs lefties, he has just 19 runs and 12 RBI.
Noah Cameron has also been much better against right-handed bats this season:
• 3.47 ERA vs RHB
• .223 AVG allowed
• .287 wOBA allowed
• 0.8 HR/9
Clement has also faced Cameron 5 times in his career and is 0-for-5 with 0 RBI.
With Clement’s recent production, 5 straight home UNDERS, weaker splits against lefties, and Cameron’s success against RHB, I like Clement to stay UNDER 1.5 H + R + RBI.
MLB PICK #2
Jared Young OVER 0.5 Total Bases ⚾️
Young has cleared this line in 8 of his last 10 games and 15 of his last 20. He’s averaging 1.9 total bases over his last 10 and has consistently been getting 4 plate appearances, giving him plenty of chances to record just one hit.
The right-handed pitching split is also where Young has done his best work this season. Against RHP, he’s hitting .282 with a .312 BABIP, .193 ISO and 38.6% of his hits going for extra bases.
Young’s recent numbers:
• OVER in 8 of his last 10
• OVER in 15 of his last 20
• OVER in 41 of 66 this season
• 1.9 TB average over his last 10
• 4+ PA in 9 of his last 10
• .282 AVG vs RHP
• .193 ISO vs RHP
Jacob Misiorowski is obviously a difficult matchup with a 1.68 ERA this season, so this is more about the low line and Young’s ability to produce against righties. Misiorowski has allowed 4+ hits in each of his last 3 starts, while Young only needs a single to cash this.
Young also already has a hit in his limited history against Misiorowski, going 1-for-2 in the matchup.
With Young consistently getting four trips to the plate, his strong recent hit rate and much better production against right-handed pitching, I like him to record at least one total base tonight. 🔒
