"Our 'relationist' approach focuses more on the interactions between players than on fixed positions.
We want our players to understand what kind of relationships they need to create in each moment...that gives us more flexibility."
- Jose Alberto Lopez
"...modern futbol demands adaptability, quick thinking & rich interactions. Opponents...well prepared, & if you are too predictable, you become easy to control. We want to be a team that is hard to read, while still being balanced, brave & attacking"

The dominant language in coach education focuses on "how do I teach this skill?" rather than creating environments where players can learn independently.
This coach-centric approach limits player development.

@paulspacey I've always thought that the street baller, along with a mix of tactics, was the ultimate environment for player development. This is our philosophy at @VaquerosAcademy. Our boys are more technical and creative than our opponents.
@MarkSnellFUTBOL@VaquerosAcademy I agree Mark and I’m not surprised you’re seeing it play out that way if your kids are getting that piece of the puzzle. The tech/creative part I see most often in Latino football-first households here in LA.
Don’t fall into this trap: they’re not learning football. They’re learning movements. Research shows skill doesn’t emerge from isolated drills or repetition but from contextual play. Learning the game means adapting, perceiving& making decisions within the game’s dynamic reality.
Congrats to Five Fort Worth Vaqueros Academy Players who have been called into US National Team Training Camps. Kudos to Academy Director Mark Snell & everyone in the club. Special thanks to the sponsors who provide the opportunity for these young players to pursue their soccer dreams through our Non-Profit Academy!
