🚨 BREAKING: Today on September 12th, industry titan and globally recognized giant Marathon has gone below Hello Kitty Island Adventures for the 5th time in the last 14 days
Season 3 is scheduled to release in 14 days, without a word from Sony or Bungie offering advertisement
Thomas Mahler, director of No Rest for the Wicked and creator of Ori, has launched a new review site called VideoGamesCritic.
He wants give players more weight than professional critics, Two-thirds of the score comes from Steam users, while critics make up the remaining third.
Mahler says sites like Metacritic and OpenCritic mainly show what critics thought about a game, while his site focuses more on what the people actually playing it think.
“Press still counts, it just can’t outvote the people who bought the game.”
The site also gives reviewers and outlets a trust score based on how closely their opinions match player reactions.
It also takes newer Steam reviews more seriously, so a game that improves over time can see its score change.
Mahler calls VideoGamesCritic “the one source of truth for gamers.”
NexusMods bought SteamDB.
We decided to build our own alternative to SteamDB!

independent Steam database and currently in development.
Bad news, Nexus Mods has acquired SteamDB, one of the most useful tools for tracking Steam games
SteamDB creator xPaw is stepping back after years of running the site largely on his own, he said the growing workload eventually led to burnout, and he wanted to find a team he could trust to take the project forward.
The bigger plan is to connect SteamDB’s game version and update data with Nexus Mods.
RIP steamDB, it was good knowing ya.
It's one of those sites that has provided a lot of transparency when it came to what kind of games and which games were doing well when it came to concurrent users.
It gave players a clear indication of the success or failure of the game, especially when publishers are tight-lipped about the sales numbers or obfuscate them with "player numbers... and with mainstream reviews being captured by leftist ideology.
Nexus Mods have also been incredible censorship heavy, especially when it comes to mods that go against the prevailing woke narrative.
I expect them to manipulate how the numbers are presented on SteamDB, so the woke games appear like they are performing better, and suppress the numbers for "problematic games".
It was the bane of mainstream journalists and leftist developers because it was one of the clearest signals that their games were not selling well, and that their ideology was not commercially viable.
They think that if they manipulate the numbers, like they manipulate the reviews, they could generate more sales, but they are wrong. This will make gamers even more hypersensitive to the WOKE BS that has infected our hobby.
If the game even smells like it's contaminated with DEI, it won't sell anymore, even if the core gameplay is good.

We also have a sister campaign to announce: Stop Killing the Internet: https://t.co/qgnxez42ON
This is a sister campaign that we support separate from #StopKillingGames, but whose goals co-allign with ours. We'll have more details soon!
#StopKillingTheInternet
All because members of the EU met with lobbyists and Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillmot behind closed doors and likely had their hands greased.
Pathetic, embarrassing, corrupt behavior by institutions meant to protect the people instead choosing to protect corporate interests.
Bad news, The European Commission has responded to the “Stop Destroying Videogames” initiative and decided not to make new laws about games becoming unplayable after support ends.
Apparently those sneaky meetings with Ubisoft CEO and other companies did their job.
Instead, it plans to bring together consumer groups and the video game industry to discuss better end-of-life practices and possibly create voluntary guidelines.
The Stop Killing Games campaign said this was the outcome it expected. It is now shifting its efforts to the European Parliament, where it hopes to add protections for players through the upcoming Digital Fairness Act.
