You wouldn't know it based on what you see on this site, but there is actually a lane for people who are skeptical of military intervention and regime change wars but also aren't weeping for the Iranian regime and actively rooting for America to fail. Not only does the lane exist in real life but it's where like 90 percent of real people live.

@JakeSherman — So let me translate this from "Washington reporter speak" into plain English for the 44 members of Congress who were screaming "unconstitutional," "illegal war," and "reckless cowboy diplomacy" approximately 72 hours ago:

The intelligence said Iran was going to FIRE FIRST. Either preemptively or the moment we moved. The Gang of Eight — which includes the TOP congressional leaders from BOTH parties — was briefed. The President chose not to absorb the first blow, protect American forces in the region, and acted accordingly.

This is not complicated. This is called LEADERSHIP.

The same people who spent years telling us they "support the troops" were apparently totally fine with the intelligence community analysis that said sitting back and waiting would result in SUBSTANTIALLY HIGHER American casualties — as long as it gave them a political talking point about "constitutional authority."

Let that sink in. They preferred American service members absorb the first missile strikes so they could post on social media about War Powers resolutions.

The Gang of Eight was briefed. The legal framework under Article II is clear — the President's authority to protect American forces in theater from imminent attack is well-established. This is not a novel legal theory. Carter used it. Reagan used it. Clinton used it. Obama used it. But SUDDENLY with an (R) next to the name, everyone discovered Article I, Section 8 existed.

Quinn's Law #6: Facts are the enemy of liberalism. And right now the facts are absolutely obliterating the narrative.

The silence from the 44 who demanded impeachment is, as I said before, absolutely deafening.

But what do I know — I am only a combat medic who was trained to triage a battlefield, and even I understand that you do not wait to get shot before you defend yourself.
