A great initiative was happy to be part of it. Got an opportunity to meet like minded people. Other Municipal Corporation in Punjab should adopt this as well . Community building leads to change. @mcamritsar@mcldhofficial
I've been trying to seek appointment from @SGPCAmritsar for representation for @chalo_amritsar , cleanliness around Darbar Sahib but I guess they are too busy in promoting hoola hoop ! Is the issue of Darbar Sahib not important for Mr. Dhami ? 450 th Foundation Anniversary is in 2027. People who have given consideration are Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj, Reena Gupta Chairperson PPCB, Bikramjit Singh Majithia, Mayor Jitendra Singh Moti Bhatia, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Bibi Kiranjot Kaur, Sukhpal Singh Khaira and Vikramjit Singh Sahney. I'm pretty disappointed in Gurjeet Aujla, Inderbir Singh Nijjar and Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh, Pargat Singh, and others for whom Darbar Sahib is only about politics !!!! As a citizen of this country it is our duty to protect our sacred spaces. It's shame that no one cares. @AAPPunjab@Akali_Dal_@INCPunjab
Those sitting in cities probably will not understand that they are leading the Earth to total devastation. Be sensitive to those who are actually more connected to the Earth. Cities and skyscrapers, vehicular pollution hurt the Earth more. City dwellers need to understand that they create more pollution than villagers. The exploitation of land, air and water is maximum in cities. The greed for expansion is so much that villages are wiped off. Stop and think before you rebuke a villager for not knowing science.
Farming is science in practice — built on observation, experimentation, adaptation & deep understanding of nature. Farmers and indigenous communities carry generations of ecological wisdom. They are also the first to face and adapt #ClimateChange. #ClimateAdaptation#ClimateCrisis

Vatrukh Foundation in collaboration with @DPROLudhiana held workshop of Female Health and Menstrual Hygiene an important subject that is often ignored.
In collaboration with DC Office Ludhiana, awareness sessions on female health & menstrual hygiene were conducted to encourage safe hygiene practices and open conversations among young girls. Biodegradable sanitary napkins were also distributed. #MenstrualHygiene#WomenEmpowerment

Climate-resilient agriculture cannot succeed if farmers are expected to bear all the financial risks alone.
Awareness alone is not enough. Farmers need timely financial assistance, continuous support, and policies grounded in field realities.

The ongoing strike of safai karamcharis is a reminder of how essential they are to our cities and villages. Yet, the people who keep our surroundings clean continue to be among the most underpaid. ₹10,000/month is simply not dignified compensation.
Let’s be honest about waste is generated by all of us. On an average 350–700 grams per person per day , waste is generated. Citizens, institutions, markets. But poor waste governance and political apathy have worsened the crisis. Garbage strewn everywhere is not just an eyesore; it is a public health emergency.
Swachh Bharat cannot succeed if waste systems are unaffordable, impractical, and disconnected from ground realities. User fees may not be feasible for many low-income households in a country where millions still struggle financially.
We need fair wages for sanitation workers, practical waste management systems, accountability, and shared responsibility. Cleanliness cannot run on exploitation. #SafaiKaramchari #WasteManagement #SwachhBharat
Chalo Amritsar – For Guru Di Nagari, For Our Future
As Amritsar approaches its 450th Foundation Anniversary, it is time to honour the city not just in celebration, but through meaningful action.
Let us come together to make the Old Walled City of Amritsar Clean, Green & Beautiful
Our Goals:
1.Decommission Bhagtanwala Landfill
2. Implement Single Use Plastic (SUP) Ban in the Old Walled City
3. Plant 450 Bagichas (Orchards) with native trees across Amritsar district
How can you contribute?
1.Say no to single-use plastic
2. Segregate waste at source
3. Support community clean-ups
4.Encourage greener neighbourhoods
The legacy of Guru Ram Das Ji’s city deserves clean streets, greener spaces and collective responsibility. Together, citizens, schools, RWAs, traders, NGOs and institutions can make this vision a reality.
Be the change. Be a part of #ChaloAmritsar
