@BristowEwan So it’s not that any type of synthesis is dated, it’s always dependent on the context of the song and how you use those techniques

@BristowEwan Plus, many years ago, I hit a plateau with wavetable synthesis, but because I took the detour into learning other means of synthesis (granular, sine compression, additive, subtractive etc), I was able to level up what I was able to do with wavetable synthesis

@KeroseneDubz That’s why you can’t get too deep into the drum writing process. You’re just gonna write yourself into a corner. I think starting with super basic drums and then working on a synth and then going back to drums is the way to go.

@s0mbrasounds Been there. I look to more white noisey hats rather than real sounding hi hats at this point. Similar w/ rides, but sometimes real rides have a nice mid range
