@msnbc the Prevention Practitioner's Network is that resource to direct radicalized people to mental health support.
And there are a ton of resources out there for people to use. That's why we're working to train clergy to be that first step to build resilience.
Additionally, there is no federal domestic terrorism law. There is a terrorism law that *might* be able to be applied (but are we going to risk failure in that application?). We need a specific DT law that goes beyond sentencing guidelines.

@charless_94 Bingo.
In addition to #GunReformNow, acting with intentionality to curb hate fueled violence through education and medical interdiction might actually make a difference.
Thanks for your leadership and for having the courage to not be a bystander.
@esglaude I'm so sorry for your loss. Dr. Willis's scholarship was well known. I don't believe we ever met but his work was foundational for any conversation of religion in the common sphere.
MLK’s Legacy and the Quest for a Racial Reckoning

@RobertDownen_ It's unfortunate that the SBC "accepted responsibility" by sweeping it under the rug. They claimed they embraced transparency with their database, but did everything possible to prevent it from operation. Then, they turned on their female leaders, using similar justifications.SMH
Self #policing#police is what brought us here. Just as #SCOTUS needs oversight in #ethics, so too do police. And that's very different from interference. Independent justice needs to remain independent but transparency must be at the forefront for integrity and public trust.
Three years ago, I got some footage that I couldn’t get out of my mind.
It showed the first police killing captured on body-worn cameras in NY.
The NYPD didn’t want anyone to see it.
It eventually launched me on the biggest story I’ve ever done, w/ @NYTmag

@esglaude Heresy forces orthodoxy to define itself.
We're in a moment of a glacial shift of cultural values, the new definition being forced through hate and fear fueled rhetoric, violence, and response.
@AnnevanLeur Regarding ethics on rules (as so many are raising issues of armchair diagnosis, etc), one must personally evaluate if the risk to harm from silence outweighs damage of speaking out on a public figure. Once decided, you are compelled to act, one way or another.
@msnbc the Congressman goes to Israel, gets media whammied and turns into a US leader who wants to "wipe them off the face of the earth."
Tell me how this is goodness and righteousness again?
“The violence is horrific, and the geopolitics are complex, but my call to love is simple: Stop the killing."
@PB_Curry has called upon U.S. leadership “to be unequivocal that we need to stop the killing” in the Israel-Hamas war.
