Yesterday, @ranger_finance shared a full breakdown of how their upcoming ICO on @MetaDAOProject will work, including the exact start date (next Tuesday)

I won’t repeat everything since they already explained it well in the quoted article, but here are the most important points:

✅ Minimum raise: $6M

✅ 39% of total supply reserved for the ICO

✅ ICO participants get 100% unlocked at TGE

✅ Previous investors (VCs, angels, etc.) get 0% unlocked at TGE, with a 24-month linear vest

✅ Team gets 0% at launch; 30% reserved, unlocking only after performance milestones, with a minimum 18-month cliff

✅ Ambassadors get 50% of their 1.5% allocation unlocked at TGE, remaining 50% vested linearly over 6 months

✅ Ranger points (originally meant for an airdrop that won’t happen anymore) now give users guaranteed access to a dedicated ICO allocation bucket

✅ A fixed buy wall / buyback will support the token at ICO price for 90 days post-TGE

✅ No hard cap announced yet; unclear how much above the minimum raise the team would accept

Ranger is a pretty complex case coming to MetaDAO, and imo it could set an important precedent for future ICOs, especially projects that already raised before and want to integrate user points into a fair launch structure

The two best parts for me are:

➡️ ICO participants are ahead of VCs, angels, and the team. Public buyers get full unlock at TGE, while VCs are locked for 24 months and the team only unlocks after milestones

➡️ Existing Ranger users are even more advantaged, since they’ll have a guaranteed allocation bucket based on points

In short, this ICO is clearly designed to favor users and public participants, not insiders

That said, I still have a few open questions:

1⃣ How exactly will points translate into allocation?
For example, if I have 100k points, how much supply does that reserve? Is it 1 point = 1 token, or a proportional model?

2⃣ The 90-day buy wall is great for short-term protection, but do the team plans to continue buybacks afterward using protocol revenue?

3⃣ What will be the concrete utility of the Ranger token beyond ownership? Fee discounts, protocol incentives, etc?

To conclude, Ranger is the most hyped ICO ever to launch on MetaDAO, and the first one with prior VC rounds, which makes it even more interesting to watch

I’ll personally participate. I’ve used Ranger before, I have points, and with ICO participants positioned ahead of VCs and the team + a 90-day buy wall at ICO price, I don’t see a strong reason not to take a position
