@akm515 The problem is all the emissions requirements.
You could basically have two bulletproof and efficient engines depending on size: VW ALH 1.9L
diesel and MB OM606 3.0L diesel. Both can be run with no ECU and no emissions systems but get 30+ MPG even in trucks.
