@theoztrucker The Australian Government is running deficits, so they don't have $100M even from current taxation. So this would have to be borrowed money which then will attract interest before it is paid off.
@AI__Alex@techAU@cybertruck@TeslaAUNZ In 2024 10,611 full sized Pickups (RAMs etc) were registered in Australia so some elements of the challenge are being met. I agree it is very difficult though.
WholeBoard runs on Linux, macOS and Windows, and one installer sets up KiCad, TraceMaker, FreeCAD and ngspice. Use Claude, OpenAI, Grok or a local model via Ollama. It's under construction, so give it a go and tell me what breaks.
Example board: a 555 LED blinker off 9V. 42x26mm, 24/24 nets routed, KiCad DRC 0 errors, JLCPCB estimate $28.87, plus a FreeCAD enclosure with BLINK engraved on the lid. Designed with a local Qwen model. What should I throw at it next?
@GhostOfFrederic@techAU@cybertruck@TeslaAUNZ I guess we will never know. Steer by wire sounds easier but maybe the Government just said they have EDS or something and that was that.
Mines are trying to electrify sites post haste and would look at the CTs. The Gold Coast would start leasing them instead of G-Wagons. I am fighting in traffic every day against imported pickups. In 2024 alone is was reported that 10,611 full size US pickup trucks were sold in Australia.
