If Hindutva leader Bal Thackeray were alive today, many would feel that he would have declared, “If anyone carries out cow slaughter on this day, Hindus should sacrifice pigs and organize feasts of pork meat!"

When goat sacrifice already exists as a tradition on Bakri Eid, cow slaughter is increasingly being used to provoke and insult Hindu sentiments.

Humayun Kabir is issuing this challenge with the same mentality. It has now become unavoidable to enact a law to register murder cases against such people and punish them with capital punishment.
